Newcomer / Intro HELP! Pulse Lasers not firing

I just bought a new cobra and fitted with two class 2 Pulse lasers, but i can't fire them at all.
I use 9.97 MW from 10.40 MW everything seems to be okay but i can't get them to work.


Is this a bug or am i missing something (please note that i'm new to the elite universe).

Ah, google elite dangerous weapon grouping, that should fix all your problems :)

EDIT: And have a look at this when you have questions about well, anything

Hmm, could you post imgs of your cockpit front view and a view of your weapon group screen?

EDIT: If you don't know how, hit F10 ingame, the pictures should be in C:\Users\username\Pictures\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous
then just upload to tinyimg or something and post the links, otherwise you have to convert which is a pain in the rear.

They're turrets.
You can't fire them, they autofire :p

Look at the little icon next to the name of the weapon. See the little turret? Means it's a turret :)
Look in your right panel -> functions. You can set the turret mode there. Fire at will is dangerous.

As I said, look in your right panel -> Functions. You can set fire mode. Fire at target is usually best.
They will fire at whatever hostile target you point em at.

I'm not familiar with turrets, so you'll have to look up the firing modes.

think you need to set them to forward fire and they act as gimbaled weapons then

hah, yeah turrets, you want fixed or gimballed. Turrets are like an autofire weapon that's handy for the bigger ships for firing at stuff out of the los.

Don't worry about it mate, you don't want to know how many times I spend 15-20 minutes flying around the station trying to find the entrance.
My first day was accompanied by a lot of profanity.

We live and learn.

Might be something as simple as power pips!! I did it a few times when I had 4 pips to engines and 2 pips to systems completely forgetting some to the weapons.

EDIT!! Took to long to answer then saw your turrents sorry my bad..... :(

Ok so i 've tested them. I started to fire on a cobra then these turrets immediately hit a system officer and kept firing on them. Yeah good times. So i'm changing these back to something less messy...

You can also change who they fire at, select it to target only and it'll only fire on the cobra. But get the gimballs anyway, I think they have better damage.
