Help with 8A FSD

So I am thinking of doing a little video. A theory crafting/speculation on a future ship

But I need a piece of information!
Namely what is the stats for an 8A Frame Shift Drive?
Now no ship in game has one so I can't check there... wiki has no info... and a quick google search showed some info that... well I am not sure if its valid

So! I have to speculate and guess and use information that is possibly incorrect

8A FSD
Cost: 162mil (several 8A modules have this price tag)
Weight: 160T (looking at most 8A modules this weight lines up)
Power draw: 1.2mj (mw... mj... uh? which one was it again?)
Fuel used: 12.8T (possibly wrong as the site says 12.8 but the 7a takes 12.8T per jump. looking at fuel trend over other modules each size increase +-doubles fuel consumption... so maybe 20 something tons?)
Optimal Mass: 3700T (again... might be wrong... the optimal mass increase as sizes increase is not consistent so no clue)

And then how to calculate jump distance.

I found this reddit post...
https://www.reddit.com/r/EliteDange...e_with_engineer_mods/?st=jesgck2p&sh=d62d2801
Which I think is right?
maybe?

I don't know.

maybe a dataminer could poke through the files and correct me?

Any help appreciated

Optimal Mass : 2700 - 3200T
Ship weight using FSD 8A : (Max FSD A rate Optimal Mass / Hull Mass)
- slow beast : 1350T - 1600T (based on Type-9 : 1800/850=2.12)
- high jump : 1550 T (based on Imp. Cutter : 2700/1100=2.45)

Possible ship ?
It would lead to an heavy trader, double weight of Type-9, with a possibility of 1500T of cargo !

In my opinion it's for the panther clipper :)

I don't see a Combat ship is that class as it would surpass all other big ship and would be way overpowered.

Comparing 5A to 6A to 7A you see a pattern
price : about X3
max fuel per jump : 60% increase
fsd optimal mass : no pattern, 4A to 5A : +66.6% , 5A to 6A : +58% , 6A to 7A : +50% (deminishing returns)
power draw : +0.15
mass : X2

using the above I get :
Price : ~161M
Max Fuel/Jump : 20.48
OP Mass : lets use 46% 3942T
Power Draw : 1.05
Mass : 160T

I like your scientific approach there, and the price rings true as it works out at about the same as an 8A powerplant which would make sense as a 7A powerplant, FSD & Shield Generator are all about the same sized chunks of change. Your scientific approach totally earned you the +1 rep I gave you. o7

Ah

Well thanks again to people that responded

^w^

Once I get my paperwork sorted out at work I'll make my video... with a big "we don't know these values" disclaimer
