Help with a kill pirates mission.

A little tweak in respawn values could do the trick for this type of missions. I know some people will argue that this is bounty hunting and not farming but fun comes before realism? At the moment this feels more like fishing on a pond without enough fish.

I took a couple of these missions. I spent an age hanging around Hazres and the nav beacon. Pirates appeared from every other faction in the system, except the one mentioned in the mission.

Another bug to toss on the pile.

Yep, these missions are just irksome these days. Shame they were fun back when they were any pirate type that counted, but now best advice I can give is just don't waste your time with these missions, until FD decide to fix them. Hell perhaps when one of these missions is present and you're in the system you only see pirates from that faction. Or any pirate from the faction required counts regardless of the star system, and surely those generic pirates found in some USS and distress calls (the ones that say pirate without a faction) should count for these missions but, for some reason they don't.

Interdiction is your friend here.

I've done a few of them now and I generally only find the targets in SC. Rarely do I find them in RES or CZ. Sometimes in USS as well. But interdiction is the best I find.

What needs fixed here is the 'help' text which doesn't mention FSD interdictors.

I usually did them by dropping into signal sources, but that could be hit and miss. Pulling the right targets out of SC is more efficient.

You need to look for them in supercruise, and interdict them - as stated above, you can find plenty of targets this way. However, mission descrition says one should look for them at nav beacon, res sites a unidentified signals - never found any this way.
also loading some (valuable?) cargo may help, as mission target may actually interdict you - my first kill tonight after about half an hour searching nav beacon/signal sources.

Hi I found 2x2 in an hour in a has res from 16 I need (trying to rank up for an engineer faction). Made 3 million plus on other bounties and I was saving ammo from my MCs so could have made more. So they do appear in other places but rarely. Off I go to get my interdictor after reading this. Should have brought one sill me

Personaly I do as it states and using the NAV beacon and or the ADS locate the various areas. Fly to them and while in super cruise hang out near them. There is generally traffic flying in and or out of these areas, scan them and if it states mission target, you good to go. Interdict and destroy. I've never actually found them in those areas, only on the outside parameters. Thus space being as big as it is, the areas suggested are really just to narrow down your searching. Much in the same way some tourist beacons are not on an objected but eludes to the general area where it can be found.

You will rarely find them in those areas, but will find them in super entering and exiting outside of those areas. Thus as most the time the discription tells you "MAY" need a interdictor isn't true, you need an interdictor. Much in the same way land based scan mission state you "MAY" need an SRV. When in reality, you need one because you can't scan a beacon on the ground in a ship.
