I raised a problem in beta about a change to the HUD graphics that was causing me eye strain, unfortunately this "feature" has been implemented in the 1.4 release. The problem is that the yellow destination target graphic on the HUD has become blurred or fuzzy due to a drop-shadow or glow effect being addded to it. No other HUD graphic has this problem but since it is the main one that I need to watch whilst manoeuvring in a system, it is a problem because it gives me eye-strain after only a few minutes in the game.
I raised a support ticket, the first response to which included:
"It is very unfortunate that the new effect is causing this problem as it was implemented to mitigate eye-strain that other players encountered when the destination graphic was displayed against a bright background."
I rejected this response and the next thing from support included:
"this glow/blur/ effect - or even if one exists"
The latest from support is:
"we want to see if other players report the same thing - because as of now, they have not i'm afraid."
I know that on the beta bug forum others said they had this issue and it totally surprises me that nobody else has complained about this. I have had to change my HUD colours to make the game at all playable, maybe others have had to do the same.
So if, like me, you find that the yellow destination target target graphic displayed in the HUD looks blurred or fuzzy and that it produces eye-strain would you please let support know by raising a ticket or something. Thanks
(I have a relatively new BenQ GW2756 monitor, running at native resolution of 2560 x 1440 - I know how to set up monitors so I am not looking for any "helpful suggestions" in that vein thanks. E D runs in "Ultra" graphics setting. The attached cropped screen-shots of the v1.4 effect were uploaded as good-quality png files, so any compression artefacts are from the board, the v1.3 one unfortunately was already a jpg.)
To illustrate: In v1/.3 the hud graphic in question was pin-sharp:

In v1.4 that (approximate) same location:

In v1.4 with a lighter background shows the drop-shadow behind the "circle"
