Help with crashed ships in Odyssey

Hi guys!

I been trying to do some salvage missions in Odyssey. I'm currently at Kamadhenu, so I get the mission at Cooper Hub. The mission contract doesn't say any details about where I Have to find the crashed ship in order to retrieve an item. Also the system doesn't have any planet available to land.

Does anyone knows how to do this mission?

Let me know if I need to provide more detail about my problem.

Not sure if your new so excuse this if already known.

The mission should tell you in the description the system and the body the crash site is located in. On the galaxy map that system will have a blue "circle-grid" over it to show a mission wants you to go there. Go to that system. The mission body will have a similar marker in the system map. Go to the planet. As you approach closely the ship panel on the left (external I believe they call it) will show the site highlighted in blue on the navigation tab. Select that, select the "target" option for it and then descend to the planet following the HUD target marker. Be prepared for a fight. An SRV may be good to have. Hopefully you have a Maverick suit.

Do you think it's a bug? Should I put it in the bug tracker?

Yeah sounds like one... just to double check, if you scroll the list in the Nav panel is any planet highlighted blue?

I've had this happen to me, it's a bug.

A working mission tells you which body the crash site is on, but in a system with no landable bodies it will be an empty field.

No planet highlighted, the mission points to Kamadhenu sun, also I scanned the beacon but no clue about where the ship crashed.

Also buttons for mission in star map point to the Kamadhenu star, no planet.

you need to scan the planet with the advanced surface scanner, then you will get the location.

I've been in the IAH BULU system for a few days now. Four out of five missions to retrieve something from a crash site fail because there is no crash site. I've scanned the nav beacon, used the DSS at the indicated planet and even tried landing at every POI. The attached screen pic was taken after I used the DSS and scanned the nav beacon and had already landed at POIs on the planet twice. The only time I found one of these sites in the last few days was after completing another mission on the same planet the crash site showed up when I was taking off from the other mission site.

The planet is highlighted for a mission but there is no site to go to. I had already been to the Minor Wreckage [Threat 2] site. That wasn't the mission site.

Had the same problems. Most ot those missions fail and there is no mission POI on the target planet. This bug came up with update 5. Hopefully they fix this with update 6 and bring the restore/reactivate-missions back that are very rare since last update.

I spent a bit of time yanking power regulators out of settlements in a few anarchy systems for upgrading suits. Eventually I started to get reactivation missions in those settlements. (And the system went into 'Pirate Attack' state for that faction, so the settlements were all offline).

Yeah, salvage missions seem to only spawn the POIs 10-20% of the time. If things were working normally you'd have a mission target (highlighted blue) appear in the Navigation panel. There's an acknowledged issue on the tracker and Sally has said in a few threads that the dev team are aware and working on it. Unless you really enjoy abandoning missions, probably best to give them a miss for now.
