Help with game window

I am new to these forums so please excuse any mistakes I make here. I am having trouble fixing the screen on my game, and Frontier is no help. When I launch my game and it loads into the main menu, the screen is slightly to the right. This leaves the left side cut-off and the right side black. This only happens in full screen, while it does not in window mode. No other game I use does this, only Elite Dangerous. I tried to submit a ticket to Frontier but it won't let me advance to the final stage for submission. Please help, I love this game and I don't wanna miss out on it.

Assuming that you don't mean the launcher, since it sounds like you are past that stage, double check ALL of your settings in the Graphics setup and make sure that you are using ones that your monitor supports.

Also make sure that your GPU drivers are up to date.

+1 to update Graphic card drivers.
If there is an 'auto-adjust' function on your monitor, it might be good to try that as well.

As was mentioned above, it sounds like your past the EDLaunch screen and into the actual game window where you are looking at your docked ship. But assuming that is not the case, I had an issue with scaling and this is what Frontier sent me and it worked. You might try it to see if it works for you. Either way, you'll find that you'll get higher quality answers from this forum if you learn how to master screen grabs and upload images of what you're seeing.

Also, if you're getting stuck on the frontier forum, Captcha challenge is almost always the culprit. The answer is simple, turn off your adblockers or use an alternate browser that's clean from plugins.

This is a scaling problem that occurs when you have your display scaled to any value over 100%; the web content and actual launcher window are reacting to the scaling in different ways.

You should be able to work around this as follows:

Go to your game folder, which should be here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Elite Dangerous

or here C:\Program Files (x86)\Frontier\Products\elite-dangerous-64\

Right-click EDLaunch.exe --> properties --> Compatibility --> change High DPI settings. Then tick the 'override' box and select 'System' under 'scaling performed by'

Alternatively, you can set your scaling back to 100%
