Herbivores that "need" to get included

Soooo I'm wondering what the remaining essential herbivores to get in should be. I'd love if we got more than just three more packs, but let's look to that at the minimum. Sadly, herbivores also tend to get the short stick when it comes to inclusions, so I'm limiting this to a total of 8 herbivores maximum - 3 per animal pack of which we'll probably get 2 more animal packs, and 2 per scenery pack of which we'll probably get 1 more scenery pack. Those numbers are probably a little generous for some packs in the past as well, but that's probably about the right number if Frontier sticks to their patterns. You don't have to come up with the theme for the packs, just list your 8 essential herbivores. For more challenge, make it 5 total, by reducing the count of herbivores in each pack by one. To note, I'm not including primates into this list for my wants, but you're welcome to if you feel the species does truly follow a herbivorian diet (and most are omnivores I believe) Same for birds, I think are mostly omnivores.

Old World Porcupine - prefer Crested, but would be happy with Cape or even Indian Porcupine (in order of preference)
Tree Kangaroo - prefer Goodfellow's but I'm open to others.
Grey Kangaroo - for species variation of an iconic animal
Patagonian Mara - more non-amazon inclusion
Sulawesi Bear Cuscus - I'm not kidding these little guys (and gals) came out of nowhere and rocketed up my list and are now my #11 most wanted mammal.

That's my 5. Adding in for 8:
Brazilian Porcupine - another "out of nowhere" addition that's now very high up in my list
Masai Giraffe - another species variation of an iconic animal
Hairy Nosed Wombat (either species) - I love wombats what can I say.

Now that's my list. I feel like as a community, we're really only behind the Old World Porcupine and Tree Kangaroo as a whole. Which is interesting to me. As a rule there are complaints about the overabundance of carnivores being included with packs, but we don't really seem to offer many other choices, collectively that is.

The top 5:

  • African crested porcupine: very visually distinctive rodent, well known by the general public.
  • Patagonian mara: iconic animal from my country, very common in captivity and as a free roaming animal in zoos.
  • Blackbuck: beautiful asian antelope, and we have none from that region.
  • Greater kudu: iconic and beautiful antelope from South Africa.
  • Dromedary camel: iconic animal from the deserts of Africa, Middle East and Australia, with props already in the game and also a domestic (for the domestic lovers) that i would be happy with.

The extra three:

  • Asian caprine: the markhor being my first choice, followed closely by the takin. Alternative to them could be the musk ox.
  • Marine iguana: feeds on algae, rep for Galapagos, very unique looking
  • Artic hare: would be nice to have a lagomorph of some kind, all of them are herbivores so i just choose the one i want the most.

Now special mentions and wants:

Then there are tons of African ungulates i would like still: the impala, one of the most common antelopes from african savannahs. An alternative could be the gerenuk, more interesting choice, with characteristic morphology and behaviour but not as common as the impala. The black rhino is to iconic to be left out. The dik dik would be nice for a small antelope.

From SA i still miss the brazilian tapir (i prefer it over the Baird's tapir) and the southern pudu (common in captivity here, and also endangered small deer from Patagonia :) )

Unfortunally most birds, even though primeraly herbivorous they also feed on invertebrates a lot of the time (and even small vertebrates) so they are excluded :(

For me it's gotta be:
  1. Addax. Top priority for me.
  2. Blackbuck. Easily number two.
  3. Markhor. Just love these guys, though I've never seen one.
  4. African crested or Cape porcupine. Either one. I'd accept the Indian as a distant third.
  5. Golden agouti. I see why people prefer the mara, but agouti are in just about every zoo here in NZ so I want one.
I wouldn't say no to a few more deer. I'd like the sika deer, Pere David's, southern pudu, and one of the Indian deer, but the word "need" puts me off injecting my own preferences. If we're talking about purely personal needs, then the Sumatran rhinoceros is also on my list, but in general game terms we can live without it.

Here's my top:

1. Blackbuck
2. Addax
3. Markhor
4. A second highlands herbivore - I think Yak or Takin would work great.
5. Roosevelt Elk
6. Wild As(apparently if I include the second 's' the censors blur the word out lol)
7. African Crested Porcupine
8. Greater Kudu

I do think the game needs an Asiatic deer species to round out, but most of the attached represent needed areas in game as well.

  1. Crested Porcupine: most needed rodent
  2. Tree Kangaroo: really cool marsupial
  3. Dromedary Camel: iconic Middle East animal
  4. Markhor: We need an Asian caprine, and this one is my favorite
  5. Muntjac: a small deer with fangs would be different from anything else we have right now

  1. Blackbuck: Asia needs an antelope, preferably 2. This one is iconic and was in ZT1
  2. Mara: common in zoos and good for southern SA
  3. Musk Ox: really cute goat for the arctic

Honorable Mentions: New world porcupine, Addax, Somali Wild, Bighorn Sheep, SA Deer, Rock Wallaby, Manatee, Takin

In order of preference:
1. European Bison
2. Linne’s Two Toed Sloth
3. African Crested Porcupine
4. Gelada
5. Eurasian Wild Boar

Honourable Mentions:
1. Muskox (If no European Bison, then Muskox would be top of my list. I NEED one or the other, want both)
2. Domestic Yak
3. Markhor

My list of most needed herbivores would probably be something like:

1. Goodfellow's Tree Kangaroo
2. Cape Porcupine
3. Blackbuck
4. Yellow-footed Rock-wallaby
5. Black Swan
6. Patagonian Mara
7. Dromedary Camel
8. Aoudad

This is my wish list(I'm a ungulate maniac):
  1. Takin
  2. Markhor
  3. Kiang
  4. musk ox
  5. Pere David's Deer
  6. White-lipped Deer
  7. Visayan spotted deer
  8. Addax

I think mine will come to something like:

1) Crested Porcupine sp.
2) Dromedary Camel
3) Black Rhino
4) Markhor
5) Yak
6) Musk Ox
7) Wild Boar
8) Gaur

Honestly, that's not necessarily even espescially my personal favourites as such, most of this list is species that feel like essentials to me, and I'd also throw in Rocky Mountain Goat and Saiga on to that list too

Markhor, markhor, markhor, markhor, markhor, there is a good mod for this animal, but it gets scarred with wounds after a while for no reason, so I’d rather see an official markhor.

Gerenuk
Crested Porcupine
Takin
Musk ox
Saiga
Mountain Goat
Bighorn Sheep or Moufflon
Tree Kangaroo
Musk Deer or Muntjac with the fangs of dracula
Blackbuck
Onager I really dislike the name of the other wild donkey from Africa, sorry

Other mentions: gaur, Yak, Chamois, Aoudad, kudu, greater eland, mara, snow hare

Lesser mentions: B-Rhino, Alpaca and Dromedary

I want a lot of birds, but I keep this list for mammals

Wow just look at this. As if we didn't already know by the meta list, a Crested/Cape (or Indian if need be) Porcupine is the most wanted herbivore. Almost everyone's included it so far - though it's okay if you didn't. Like with the Sloth I think it has some concerns on design..not for the same reasons, I just think those quills are going to be an absolute nightmare to design and even more to animate. But..it's so important to get and remains one of the most recognizable mammals not yet in the game. I'm still sad that it didn't get included in the Grasslands pack but I can only hope that somehow, someday we'll get them in the game.
