Newcomer / Intro Here I am.

So like pretty much evertbody I started in a Sidewinder, tried to run a few hunting mission who did failed because I couldn't locate the target ships in time. Then got into a fight between some local police and wanted ships, earned around 80k in bounties while not really deserving those bounties (shoot 1 time a ship, wait for the law enforcement to kill it, then cash in). Made another 30k~ by selling illegal goods found in Unidentified / Weak Signal Sources, thrown all my money for an Adder.
Then I went on a course around 100 LY away from my home system for some exploration. Don't laugh at how far I went, I wasn't even sure I could make it back.
Exploration Data sold to buy a Cobra, upgrade parts.
Bought some equipment to give a try at bounty hunting, but wasn't really good at it (well when I haven't got help).

So I've been wondering for the last 10 days what to do next.
Try again exploring (would need more money than what I currently have to outfit it properly for exploration), try again bounty hunting / running combat mission, or wait for the game to have more content / improvements.

i may stuff tend to bum about the universe

try some rep missions with the system factions for fun also your be able after a little bit to get some navel ranks missions
( witch will unlock ships and system permits)

or how about some rares runs to get more cash,
try this 71 rares run ( below) its one of my fav's for a bit of fun and it worth it for the cash as it will make about 10-20 mils a loop also due to the high tech stations your be able to upgrade your ship to help with other things like combat / bh missions etc

one thing you can also try out is mining ....but to be honest even i think it's a bit on the bah side but the moneys gotten better in the last patch and will get better once we get the dones once powerplays released

It all depends on how much money you have. Outfitting an exploration ship takes several millions if you want to have the Advanced Discovery Scanner and the Detailed Surface Scanner, as well as maximum jump range.

With less than 5 millions, you can already build some very decent explorer ships: click here for some inspiration and advice.

Well I got a mission to increase my Federation Navy rank, don't know exactly what triggered it because I'm neutral towards every body. But I got a fine in the same process >_> looks like they don't like when you bring them the illegal cargo they asked you for...

I think I'm just going to travel a bit and do some random bounty hunting and a few missions.

I gave a look at those trade runs, but they far exceed my cargo capacity. I'd have to refit my ship for this, but as you can store your equipment and only sell it to a station... I don't think I'm going to do it (I haven't even looked at the distance between my current position).

I think I'm just going to do some random bounty hunting at Nav beacons and USS with a few missions.

your get a load of missions that as to pick up illegal things like art work / blackbox's etc , they do warn you that the mission is class as illegal to help with that have a quick read up on smuggling ( link below)as they have made some changes that make it easier to do due to ship size ,
i normally sit at the 7.5km limit for docking line up to the letterbox, and just hammer it as , as long as you get thru the letterbox it stops the scan finishing , the real way to do it via silent running thats listed in the link below

also the navel rank stuff will be to do with you buying / selling from trading + rep / faction missions + bh / combat kills it s a bit of random mix

Well I was warned they were illegal cargo, but mission reward was high enough to have a profit even after paying the fine...
I'm not very familiar with how signature works, but I'll give it a look.
For now my biggest issue is docking with stations. I have no issue with outposts as it's external docking. But when it's internal I always fail to pass the station's entrance and end up bouncing against the station's wall and getting blown. So for now I use a docking computer.
