Here we go again! 89 Military Grade Alloys : Zero Military Supercapacitors! AGAIN!!!

You have got to be kidding me! Again I find myself looking for Military Supercapacitors....

AGAIN I have found only HGEs with Military Grade Alloys in two system giving me a total of 89 MGAs now! an ZERO MSCs... :O

I had enough of this last week! I'm REALLY NOT AMUSED WITH THIS RNG! IT TOTALLY SUCKS.

FDev for the Love of All that is HOLY - Split these two types of HGEs up at the very least!

If I have to fly around in sodding circles for hours, I want to at least find what I came looking for... Not a succession of unending MGAs...

And before I get lectured to go to the Mats trader again. I only get 1 MSC for every 6 MGA. So not exactly to my advantage is it. Fix the damned RNG!

Good news!!! I went to "Nanditi" last night in search of a material trader and got 3 HGE's by accident as I approached Hale Orbital. They were jam packed full of them. I was as happy as a pig in muck hoovering them all up. Make's a change as I'm just about the unluckiest human alive. There you go, I bet you feel better now :D

I was having the complete opposite problem of you. I maxed out my Military Superconductors but couldn't find MGA's for the life of me.

Had that problem yesterday. Military suparecapacitors only. TBH I was looking for them at the time, but for a few of the next ships to engineer I'll need military grade alloys too.

How often do need you try until you realise it's intended to be random?

BUT it isn't random is it? Getting 10 Heads in a row isn't random. Yes its a possibility that it could happen, even twice in a row! But it isn't random. It looks like something is messing with the MSC drop rates.

and MGA drop rates because some people are finding the opposite problem - only MSCs...

You are so unlucky it's almost funny. Sorry. rofl. (naturally, I'm assuming that mil supercaps aren't something else that disappeared or got 'balanced' yesterday morning. ;) )

It is truly staggering Aashenfox, we did this to death last week... and hear I am again. Doing it all over again for my 2nd account.

UGH! Sorry to hear that you are still dealing with this.

May I ask what you are upgrading that requires so many Super Capacitors? Just curious since I don't seem to be using mine up much at all.

As far as the spawn rates go... I did notice that my Polonium reserves were getting on the low side so I decided to head down to my planet of choice for Polonium and I too was having a terrible time finding any.

This was the same planet that provided me with my original 220+ units of Polonium I amassed in the days leading up to the 3.0 release.

So once again, despite what I keep reading in the various point update patch notes, the spawn rates of many of the HGE materials as well as apparently keystone G5 Raw Materials has gone way down from previous versions of the game. They have definitely not gone up or even stayed the same as 2.4 levels.

FDEV really needs to make this right ASAP! Most sensible folks are able to see that the advantages of the new 3.0 engineering and materials system far outweigh any downsides. Provided of course that the various materials and data are readily available and not locked away behind some fabricated, artificial scarcity situation.

MSCs are used for G5 engine-focused PD. So pretty much for every non-combat ship.

The stupid thing is I don't actually need all that many MSC's. I only use them on my exploration build ships (JumpaConda, AspX and DBX). They are used for Engine Focused PD's.

https://inara.cz/galaxy-blueprint/68/

The rest of my ships use Charge Enhanced PDs.

https://inara.cz/galaxy-blueprint/67/

So I only need about 30 of the things for 3x G5 modded PDs.

Hence my frustration when I can't even find a single HGE with half a dozen of them in it...

Mostly MSCs are used for high capacity magazines on weapons: https://inara.cz/galaxy-component/61/

None of which I use, only the Engine Focused PD mod.

isn't this why they added the mat traders??

See my OP!

I use a SHEDLOAD of Polymer Capacitors and Hybrid Capacitors, as well as focused PAs (which use the military supers), so I can't get enough of these, they are 'mainly' a way for me to trade for large quantities of other caps. I suggest that while you are griding, you grind more than you need so you can fill up some of the lower level caps if you need to.

I have pretty much exactly the same luck, but inverted materials. I literally always get supercaps around a dozen times for each signal source that has MGA. I have not once been remotely looking for supercaps. Same issue with the boom mats. 9 out of 10 times radiators. Every single time, since forever.

Not surprised that Nanditi was paying off like that. That system is one of my "Go-Tos" for a good number of materials and data. Another reliable source for better than average HGE spawn rates is "Nitikudi". And Planet 8 B has the highest volume of Technetium via Metallic Meteorites I have ever seen in the game.

However, I have not been to either system since 3.03 dropped. Glad to hear that Nanditi is still delivering. Hopefully "Niti K" is as well. :)

Anyone ever collect picture cards....the same thing, never get the last one you are after. I spent two hours on a planet trying to find arsenic, the system, said it was 2.9%. Zilch. Went to another one where there wasn't supposed to be any arsenic an got 9 lots in 5 minutes.

Therefore I have decided to run out into the void, its not us explorers that are insane, its all you peeps trying to find the unfindable.

Sir, you have made my day :D (I'm joking, but I will check it out)

I feel you. Better off giving up this primitive and pathetic excuse for "gameplay" and doing other things. It's just fuel for frustration.

Believe me Aashenfox. I would settle for just 10 of them for now! just 10! enough to do 1 Grade 5 module!

Finding enough of them to have a stash... *ROFL*

Thanks for the details... Not that it makes any difference in you finding these easier... But have you actually compared the engine performance from a G5 Engine Focused PD to the "in-game" engine performance from a Charge Enhanced version?

I actually compared the two using two Pythons with identical load outs save the PD upgrade. I found the difference so slight in the engine performance that I stopped bothering with any Engine Focused PD upgrades for my fleet and any future additions.

The Charge Enhanced version offers several advantages beyond that one aspect as well, making it a much more well rounded upgrade. (I should mention that this test was done back in 2.4. I have not compared them in 3.0, although my Engine Focused PD was a very good roll)

Just a thought going forward. All my deep exploration ships are using Charge Enhanced PDs with G5 Dirty Drives, and I am more than pleased with what I get out of all of them.

The Proto mats drop about 50/50 for me [Radiolic / Radiators].

That's different players are experiencing similar weird drop rates, some times in reverse, suggests to me that all is not quite right with the RNG here.

You are definitely on to something with regards to materials that drop in pairs. The ratios were much more even and predictable in the 2.4 system as compared to what I have been finding in 3.0.

I'll book mark Nitikudi when I get in. Really useful to have info like this. Thanks!

No problemo! In addition to all that Technetium, the planet itself is a real gem! Cool colors and tons of huge canyons to fly through when you get done collecting!

Be sure to pack a Detailed Surface Scanner! All the planets in that system require a DSS scan to unlock their secrets. :)
