The 2 main points of almost any game are Eye-Candy and Interaction, so with that in mind, adding more anomalies and various types of nebulae would enhance the game several times, giving players more options in playability would double that 1st statement.
With the competition in games as they are, ED is trying to update various aspects at the same time instead of concentrating on one at a time, which may result in more glitches than usually occur in updates, --- we will see.
In an offset of this conversation, Second Life tried updating a lot of different aspects at once and crashed the whole thing for over 2 weeks just before Christmas several years ago, ( close to a decade), and lost a lot of players to other games of that genre.
