Hey, Frontier, if you have a minute*, can you add in some nebula graphics for the known nebulae out there?

The 2 main points of almost any game are Eye-Candy and Interaction, so with that in mind, adding more anomalies and various types of nebulae would enhance the game several times, giving players more options in playability would double that 1st statement.
With the competition in games as they are, ED is trying to update various aspects at the same time instead of concentrating on one at a time, which may result in more glitches than usually occur in updates, --- we will see.
In an offset of this conversation, Second Life tried updating a lot of different aspects at once and crashed the whole thing for over 2 weeks just before Christmas several years ago, ( close to a decade), and lost a lot of players to other games of that genre.

You all do realize that these pretty images of nebulae are the result of long exposure and sometimes false coloration?
In reality you should see nothing, with a few exceptions.

To be honest, I personally wish nebula were much more muted at a distance, only to "resolve" as one approaches them. It actually bothers me that Barnard's loop is so incredibly bright and visible, while I can barely see Orion's belt in ED. I'd much rather have a "sky" that looks like what I see when I stargaze IRL (I live in a perfect geographical spot for this) than the extremely "color enhanced" sky ED gives us, and not just nebula, but the band of the Milky Way as well.

However... I do think Frontier should use artistic license to make nebula brighter and more colorful than they might otherwise be to the naked eye as one gets closer to them. After all, that's what a telescope does for us - it gets us closer.

And one last note, I think OP is focused more on the structure of real-life nebula vs the extra vibrant colors. ED nebulas are very "soft and foggy" compared to intricate structures we see in our telescopes.

Oh, and might as well fix the sick-yellow/brown, blurry galactic background.

It is so ugly that I only ever take screenies facing the other way, now.

All the nebulae I take pics of are generally in-line with Sol as best as they can reasonably be, at least. This is what I've cataloged of real nebulae in the game so far...

Note that some of these have since been updated in the game, like the Pleiades.

Lol, they're all like "wish you were here" post cards with your ship in every image 😁
