[where is it]

Whilst the remainder of the Western world outside of the Arctic circle was bathed in some form of sunshine and man versus fire and food shenanigans...any attempt on my part to set fire to food out of doors on this small, but bijou, island would probably have resulted in a fiery conflagration to shame the old Gods...

Wind speeds were roughly 40mph+ with nothing to stop them between here and Greenland.

I ate in the kitchen...as proper civilised folk do and tucked into Coca-Cola chicken, Caribbean styley [yesnod]

No one ever talks about the endless washing up you have to do the next day though, grumble grumble.

I've got a wife, two kids and a dishwasher for that.
I fire up the bbq, roast all the meat, drink all the beer, the rest is up to them :D
Never knew salmon wrapped in aluminum foil tastes so good on the bbq though. hmmmm.

Why don't we get burgers like that in the UK?

We don't even get burgers like that in most of the US.

That's a legendary In-N-Out Double Double; fresh daily, never frozen, family owned and only available in the western states of California, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Arizona and Texas.

They do look like that, are delicious, and are widely considered the best in America.

Okay. After a few hours sleep let's carry on. Let's be clear about something. I am not trying to debunk the examples I am using. I am only trying to show that we don't have rock solid irrefutable evidence that these things exist as we say they do. Let me try a different tack. A couple hundred years ago they believed in something called phlogiston. Chemists theorized it was what caused combustion. Psychologists believed that 4 humors controlled behavior. They thought the earth was only a few thousand years old. Nowadays we have different theories, but they are not any closer to fact, they are the closest representation of reality we can conceive, but at the end of the day they could still amount to fantasy.

If you enjoy a conundrum try this on for size, the double slit experiment section should be of particular interest given your curiosity about electrons

chapter 2.The old man lay on his death bed,his wheezing gasps for breath slowing as he turned his head sideways slightly, lips still resolving the remains of his chuckle into a smile. The story he'd told had always been a favourite of his, combining as it did the subtlety of wit with a variety of cultural subtones and gradations of meaning, so that every time he told it,he told it fresh, and was amazedafresh, marvellling at the depths of perception that lay within each telling. With a twinkle in his eye he beckoned the young pilot closer and whispered the punch line...
