When farming HGEs how long do you get to keep relogging to get the same HGE site? If it says 20 minutes when you first approach it then how long do you get? How does each relog affect things?

That's a good question. I haven't timed it precisely. I just worked with the assumption that the timer shows how long the HGE lasts and you can log and farm until that time elapses.
I haven't done this kind of farming often; just for the most scare Mats. This means that my experience is limited but my impression when I did it is that it was close. The tactic used to minimize distance from the HGE when you "leave" and log saves precious time.
It's hard not to become painfully aware of how long it takes to drop to the main menu & re-load the game and how long it takes to get into SC and turn around to drop back into the HGE site each time.

I was HGE farming a week or so ago and have no idea about the effect of logging, as I only logged when I left the game. With 1-3 HGEs appearing and lots of the other two Emissions sources available I never even thought about it.

Doesn't really count as farming I suppose.

It is officially an exploit so the answer is of course you dont do it.

Often you dont need to, just go into SC and you often get a new HGE signal if you DSS....for approx as long as the timer is. Not 100% by any means and obviously slower.

Exploits have been reversed before and effects gained have been removed and then some. Its not impossible so you know the risks. Everyone will have their own definition of probable but nobody actually knows.

If it says 20 minutes, then you get twenty minutes. Relogging doesn't affect the time left at all.
