High intensity extraction RES sites fixed for bounty hunting since update.

I don't think you can make the same RES money as pre-1.3, which was 2-3 million per hour.

As with every other profession, once you have enough money to trade in a python or better, if all you care about is making credits to buy something as fast as possible, trading wins.

It's still not clear to me if alternate forms of bounty hunting can approach the credits/hour of pre-1.3 RES, or if bounty hunting is just nerfed as a whole.

Been finally making a few cred's bounty hunting in a high RES extraction area. Feels good to be making headway again. ;-)

can you tell me what system you are in?
i think you might have found a sys that is currently under a security debuff. like a Hudson alliance/imperial controlled system whit a democratic gov for example.
i can see nothing in the patch notes about any change, so think you just found one of the sweetspots that i have been talking about in some of my other posts.

But running the same route over and over ad nauseum is not fun, it's work and it's boring. You should be able to have fun while earning the credits. Why earning be limited to boring tasks? What was wrong with the Res sites? Were miners being targeted too often? How has that changed? None. If anything, miners could work better with more bounty hunters patrolling the area, which they won't do because there's not enough high value targets. Sure it's a target rich environment if you consider a sidewinder at 8k "rich".

Funny that it takes half a billion to outfit the biggest ship with game goodies but you get 8K for a kill and then they nerf the Res sites to slow that down. What's wrong? Afraid someone might get into an ananconda before the obligatory 2 year wait without hauling Palladium for 6 months?

I get it actually, it's about the power play, the powers that be. It always was, we just got accustomed to the chaotic findings and gatherings method. Now it's all merits. Soon I expect to have boots of escape +3 as a mission.

I've found one like that, lots of Pythons, Clippers and Dropships. But the payouts are low, and no anacondas means no big bounties. Was fun while it lasted.

Even when I was making 2.6m a trip with Imperial Slaves/Gold thing... I got bored after a few trips and found other things to do. I've tried exploration, got founder on some areas, but it's also boring to me. It's the constant jump, turn, scan, jump, turn, scan, jump, turn, scan... it's more simplistic than tank pong.

It is really worse than ridiculous right now. I mean Adders and Sidewinders? In a high-intensity RES? Wave after wave after wave of nothingness? Someone missed the boat completely with the current implementation I'm afraid. Hopefully we get a fix soon. Question is, why break a thing that was working perfectly well before?

You can still easily make 2mill per hour Bounty Hunting instead of bounty farming and its way more fun than sitting in a RES. I would be surprised if FD reverse the changes and theres nothing in the patch notes.

As I see it bounty farm has been removed in 1.3 and bounty hunting implimented. This is how it should be

This. I'm enjoying bounty hunting much more the way it is now than before.

Normal Resource Extraction Sites do still exist and you can still exploit them for an endless stream of Anacondas, Clippers, Dropships and Pythons if that is your preferred gameplay. Lower and High Intensity sites were added and changed to give Miners a sure place to find rocks worthy of mining not increase the income of the bounty train.

Security of the system does seem to make a difference now as well as was stated.

I took a bunch of BH missions today and made 1.5 million in about an hour and a half. Stalking outlaw Anacondas in supercruise, dropping in to strong signal sources - I saved a trade convoy from pirates and then had to run for my life from a ravening pack of Vultures - and a bit of hanging out at nav beacons when I wanted to cool down.

Back in 1.2 I could have made at least double that in a good RES but at least this was more fun than farming in one spot.

Oh and here's a quote from Michael Brookes in the changelog thread for those who missed it:

They've not been deliberately 'nerfed' but they are more variable. There is an issue with the high and low intensity ones not scaling their difficuly correctly which is being looked into.

Michael

So the good times may roll around again soon. :)

Normal RES.... Bounty farming still viable.
Lots of Clippers, Pythons and Fed Dropships. All around 50-120k a pop. Took about 90 minutes to accumulate this lot.

Some of us actually liked bounty farming as opposed to trading to make credits.

Some of also have no real interest in PP or joining up.

Some of us don't like to have to spend half the game super cruising around looking for some target which may take ages..

Some of us don't have the time to be wasting chasing up stuff..

Some of us have found that not much has changed and you can still make what you made before the patch.

arn't you glad then that you still can farm,
and that no one is forcing you to join PP or making you spend half your time in SC hunting targets.

i have been working on writing a full extensive guide to bounty hunting in 1.3.
but im seriously starting to consider not releasing it to the public if people continue being daft about this.
