highest super cruise speed

I got to a bit over 1800c on my one and only trip into Hutton Orbital in the Alpha Centauri system. That .22ly took 90 minutes of pure boredom. Swore I'd never do it again and I won't. Not even for the mug.

I did it just to say I did it. Had no real reason to go there; other than it was something I hadn't done yet.

Haven't gone to Hutton heard How far it is from the star and I never needed to

Hutton Orbital is .22LY from the jump in point, and takes about 90 minutes in supercruise to get there.
It's one of those things that everyone has to do at least once. Either by choice, or not looking at the mission destination :)

Based on a Star Trek lore estimate, 2000c is about warp 4.5, which is about 5.5 LY a day. Not too shabby for a type 2 civilization.
FFE had a similar time requirement with the old hyperspace jump. 50 years later since 3300 now it only takes within seconds to traverse a score of LYs. The Star Trek Federation spanned about 2000LY in the alpha quadrant where the ED civilized bubble is oddly fairly smaller but seems to have far more population density among star systems than the trek universe.

well, it was an estimate that varied usually written by the script writers during the star trek shows to estimate interstellar travel where 1c and less is impulse drive speed. ( nice cgi remake of the 1st movie part where the Enterprise travels at one-half impulse power, i.e. 0.5c through the solar system https://youtu.be/YG3GSZUwvSU?t=2m28s )
Even though ED borrows the idea in the form of supercruise, the depiction of it in a sim game is best ever seen where it's seems like a walk in the park now, even though the ships are not star trek.

Just a bit of background information as to why FDEV chose the 2.001C limit:

This is a tribute to the classic Stanley Kubrick/Arthur C. Clarke movie "2001 - A Space Oddysey".

Cool, never knew that :)
And well deserved, best book I've read in ages.

If you afk at full throttle in supercruise by mistake and come back several minutes later you'll be approaching 2000C

Capped @ 2001, takes a while to get there too.
Found this out by exploring some far secondary stars.
And like all other SC speeds, if you hit it, then throttle down, but do not exit SC, you can accelerate back to that speed very quickly.
