Yeah well. Having been a roleplaying GM for some 24 years and a fantasy nut even longer I'd claim that anybody who thinks these wights are something utterly different from zombies (used as a generic moniker for the walking dead) is getting overly stuck with names over what they describe. What GoT the TV series has are essentially generic rage zombies.

They don't fit any definition of Zombie I have at all. They don't have the modern zombie traits - no contagious bite, no desire to eat brains. The don't exhibit classic zombie traits - not dumb as a bag of hammers, slow, require direct supervision. So, if it don't fit, it ain't a zombie.
