HOLO ICONS CHART + Exploration values

Just to say that the holograms are inaccurate in game. You'll get a gas giant with an "earth world" icon, for example. The metal rich and high metal ones seem to share all metal-related icons.

Earth world always seem to be the earth-world icon though, as are stars and black holes seem consistent too

This is meant to be correct in-game, and it is. Whether FD chose the correct icon for any given body is another story :)

There is a certain amount of variance, yes. It's nice to have the information, though. No sense flying to look into what will only end up being an Icy planet, for example. :)

Yeah not knocking the usefulness of this, just saying that it should be clear that it's inaccurate so people don't fly off happily to an earth world and realise it's a gas giant

This is now getting mildly annoying, i'll repeat, that chart is accurate. The ew icon is also a gas giant icon and high metal icon and ammonia icon etc... It is the way it is

haha, very sharp Cmdr :)

Well this is all my email said, I actually got excited for a second:

Here's the new icon for the Helium-rich gas giant planets as of 1.3:

Can you include my findings on the meaning of the different High Metal Content and Rocky world icons please, Dognosh? The "Hot" one indicates the presence of a very low pressure atmosphere and the "Dots" one indicates either Silicate Magma or Silicate Vapour Geysers volcanicity (although that isn't exclusive, you can guarantee that a "Dots" planet will have one of those kinds of volcanicity.)

That new helium-rich gas giant icon is also used for the class I gas giants as well.

Andrew
Will do later or tomorrow. +1 rep :)

Jackie, point me in the right direction as I am being thick and don't know what you're talking about :D

Ah sorry, should have been clearer:

I should probably call them something else now I know what they indicate, but that would get even more confusing. :D I used to think the "Hot" one was for very hot HMC planets, you see...

A great piece, I was doing a re-jig to make your work A4 sized and add the pic's from Dubardo's Star/Planet chart when they added the Nav from the system feature, so I scrapped that. I now have your work blue tacked to the wall, It's a great aid with point and fly to close planets.

A big thanks to all.
