Holo-me is required not only for future space legs but for multi-crew, unless you wanted to look around at your headless crew. Personally, I like it - I can finally create my character which will help with immersion and role playing. Others may not, that doesn't impact me and therefore doesn't bother me.

Agree, OP. We need game play. Garbage like this, can wait for a few existing mechanics to be finished first.

I like the Holo Me and i have no doubt its a stepping stone to space legs which has been confirmed by Braben himself.
I disagree, it was well worth the time spent. Who needs a galaxy map anyways. Just use your imagination or something. Besides YOLO-ME reminded me of my vanilla Skyrim days. I made a wonderful character, Im so proud. and here she is in all her glory (I have no idea how to make the image appear smaller, sorry):

Well, to each his or her own i would say. Glady we are not playing EVE where some parts of the community hold that much power that devs are unable to implement stuff that others deem nice, to say the least. I for one, as quite many others, enjoy holo-me. No longer playing Mister or Misses X.
The community of ED is the most hilarious thing I ever saw in a game.
You have to define every term that is already know by everybody who plays games for some time:
- What is grind?
- what is gameplay?
- why is rewards important in a game?
Hilarious.
