Hori hotas announced

Well, I'll wait for reviews myself, but it looks to me like it's essentially a revamped version of this older model. Doesn't look much cheaper than the T-Flight tbh...

Yes, I have to agree, after seeing this video, its looks a lot more appealing as when I only saw that picture.

Specially the Throttle, looks much more solid, and it seems it isn't so loose as the HOTAS One..

Personally would need the stick to twist for yaw as I use the throttle 'Paddle' for horizontal thrust ! Although I am a Pedal User at the moment assigned to 'Yaw', don't know if my pedals will be compatible !?

They're not.

So I guess nobody works in retail warehouses that plays Elite dangerous on Xbox one and reads this forum...
Todays the day the product would arrive at retail main warehouses in the morning for pushing to retail local locations over night and then those that wanted one would allready have one from the retail out lets...

O well may be tomorrow then. expected it to be all over youtube alllready... Hope that does not mean its delayed...

Amazon UK and US and Germany list new hori hotas stock not arriving for 2 - 4 weeks... its been delayed... this is why no early leaked youtube videos...

Decorative buttons? Say what you want on Hotas One every button is actually a button. I’ll keep holding out for an actual upgrade to the Hotas One. This just doesn’t seem like an upgrade at the projected price.

I suspect other HOTAS options will gradually appear now that Microsoft have stated that some of their future titles will actually require a keyboard or mouse instead of being tied to a controller. Moving away from the artificial restrictions of a preset 8 button controller binding system opens up the possibility of a HOTAS system with any and all buttons and axes being mappable.

Microsoft's recent announcement of the partnership with Logitech also feeds into that belief....they make pretty good stuff...but I'm a Logitech fanboi :)

I don’t like the idea of console games REQUIRING a keyboard/mouse. Optional sure why not. But I prefer console because of controllers.

It was a quote from Phil Spencer I read somewhere...I would assume that developers would give the choice in their games released on Xbox...much like what's available in the majority of PC games at the moment. I play most of my games with an Xbox controller on PC unless it's a flight sim..or something like ARMA even though M/KB is available too.

The majority of the AAA games released on PC have native Xbox controller support built in anyway....stuff like all the Assassin's Creed games, all the Tomb Raider games, GR Wildlands, R6 Siege, Battlefield series, CoD series, The Division or The Witcher 3, ESO, Fallout, FIFA etc. It wouldn't be a far stretch to have exactly the same KB/M options in the Xbox versions as we have on PC.

In fact the main differences for me playing those games on PC as opposed to Xbox is the amount of graphics/quality or controller options I have...that and modding.

This isn't the quote...but one similar.

"There are certain games out there that require mouse and keyboard and they can't come to console today," Spencer said in the video. "If we put this capability in the hands of developers, we'll get more of those games."

Source

If I find the actual quote, I'll post it.

Seems like a pile of bio waste. If it doesn't work this well on PS4, can't imagine it being better on Xbox. Plus, no twist yaw. Cablr between throttle and stick is longer though ;)

PS4 users will have to sort out the button remap manualy as the PS4 version only has pad emulation which is required to support the track pad and haptic feed back, the right analogue stick has to be set up as throttle and rudder in games options and the user has not done so yet in that topic...
PS4 version does not have flight mode only DS4 emulation this is why it has extra buttons to enable 3 different throttle remaps for 3 different game DS4 lay outs ...
Xbox one version has flight mode and Pad emulation modes PS4 version does not so there is greater support for more axis usage but no on controller remaping it will require games support its default set up...
So PS4 users need more usage to work out the correct remap...
