Hi, I recently downloaded the beta and read that it would use its own save file but to my surprise I was in my diamondback explorer with my eagle 4.30LY away (I was previously in my eagle before the beta), did I miss something or is this a bug with the server?

The beta uses a copy of the main game database from some days ago. I could imagine that in some scenarios, the data might need to have been sanitised to work around a few corner cases too - shouldn't matter since the beta database will be discarded at the end of testing, and main game progress will transition across at release.

I resolved my server connexion problem

but here 2 problem that i resolved:

1. it doesn't matter that you don't see the launcher where is write "beta" in your account.
Just download the one you see (my one was "Elite Dangerous: Lifetime Expansion Pass")

2. Don't overwrite the launcher of your steam account !
even if it give you the possibility to download the beta, you won't be able to connect to the server !

So install the launcher in another part of your harddrive and then download the beta. (it will be install in your C:\Users\<your name>\AppData\Local\Frontier_Developments\Products\PUBLIC_TEST_SERVER_64)

with this installation, you can connect to the server !

Enjoy :p

Hi mate I found you only needed roll for flight, I have Roll on the ship left and right on the X55 to turn left and right in the buggy, and yaw twist to control the gun left and right and pitch for up and down on aiming this way you can still steer the buggy left and right whilst in turreted mode and using the throttle to control the speed.
So when I use boost and lift off the surface I can still use the roll left and right to steer to steer the buggy when in the air :)

Thanks man! Will have a look tonight

lol ! on the beta server i lost my elite rank and can t go to shinrarta dezhra ...could you tel me aonther system where i can buy all stuff please ?

"Adjusted ships that can carry SRVs to have sufficient clearance when landed"

Miiiight wanna look at the Asp, I've had several times where I recalled the ship and where it landed I couldn't get the SRV under it to board the ship easily. Also, when driving in from the back of the Asp, where I can get under, when I'm under the docking bay I don't get the option to actually dock, I have to be facing the back of the ship, might want to revisit this.

There's a lot of work here, thank you. I don't understand why long distance travellers are penalised into having to return to specific stations to purchase an SRV. I'm a long way out and none of the stations, no matter how large, have a hangar module. I'm going to have to get back to SOL, I guess (over 200 light years). Then when the game is released I'll be back again.

Does 'mostly harmless' refer to my contributions? I had a nasty moment there. I am still experiencing quite a bit of lag but I guess you will be aware of this. I have a VM 150 BB connection and 2 X 780 GT SLi cards so I guess it's teething. Congratulations to the Elite Frontier team, what an awesome job. I had a look at Star Citizen but for me Elite has by far the upper hand in terms of gameplay and immersion.

You may also want to have another look at the Cobra Mk IV: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=206458

This is a real pain. In the starter ship, the Sidewinder, you have an SRV, but you can't get back in to the ship unless you are backwards. And when you are backwards, you can't see the ship, so it's playing the "guess where the ship is" game and just hoping that you have correctly steered when backing up.

Of course you can squeeze in between the front leg and the side one. But if you think you have problems with an ASP, think of the Sidewinder.

You drive up close to the back of the ship, turn around so the green square on your radar is exactly behind the SRV on the radar, and reverse. It's easy! (ish).

You know the srv bay is omnidirectional right? Doesn't matter which way you're facing, well as long as it's not sideways!

You just need to be in the right spot facing either back or forward and you can board the ship.
