Unfortunately this hot fix seems to have killed my frame rate again. The 3.0 update got me up to 30-40fps around planets, but this AMD hotfix has dropped me back down to low 20's again. I'm an nvidia user.

Well if frame rate has dropped no need to try it .. since yesterday I was about to yake in Rift riding the SRV on planet.. if it was to slow yesterday.. it will be even slower today :) My stomach still hasn't recovered...

Hi everyone,

we're deploying a hotfix for the AMD issues seen in the Beta 3 release. This will be available at 6.30pm GMT. There will be no server downtime.

Michael

Hi, Michael! Thanks for the hard work. May I ask which particular issues were fixed? In as much or little detail as you'd like.

also one more thing i noticed in the button mapping. i noticed that the roll axis on srv has been added only thing is i dont see anything in those spots i can map buttons to blank spaces but on the left its just blank space i was able to guess and assumed those were the roll axis button and it was. but im not seeing the option it literally just shows up black. i can take a screen grab if anyone wants it because i think im not explaining it very well lol

I can confirm that the ati shader prep fix is working and I am in the game. So thank you for that Fdev !

** But I also don't have the white text showing for the SRV roll key binding option. It is blacked out. But I can assign the x-Axis on my joystick to the invisible option which works.

I notice now that when in flight with the SRV, the rudder axis {joy RZ axis} on my joystick moves the SRV left and right on the horizantol plane, so landing on a side slope can be done with all the wheels, not just 3, on the left or 3 on the right of the SRV. Is this another invisible axis bind or is that mapped to the SRV ground steering axis. ( the rudder {joy RZ axis} in my case)

I have the ATI 7800 HD

I am seeing something different after the last patch and hotfix.. My system is grinding the HD a lot now...

System is:

i7 3770s w/16gig ram
Dual GTX 780 in SLI (which is working using the 64 bit client - maxing out GPU use and memory on both cards)
Win10 Pro
10,000 rpm HD install

This is a NEW symptom for me. It does not happen right away.. it started about an hour into game play and I noticed that the page file use started climbing dramatically although physical memory was holding at about 8-9 gig of use.

Ati cards hanging whilst doing the Shader preloading thingamybob! so we couldn't get i game, others got in but corruption somehow.

Awesome !!! Well, I use 2 AMD cards (Xfire) and didn't even notice any bug, but good to know you guys fixed it so fast nonetheless ;-)

I've only managed to test for 2 minutes, but I can get into the game now. Thank you for all the hard work. The effort you guys put in is amazing.

Did another hotfix just get posted? I downloaded the first one, exited the launcher and now it is downloading another patch....

Thank you for your quick response! Works like a charm.
Having the time of my live right now as i slowly decent (or better crawling down) into a huuuuuuge crater on Callisto to reach the Mountain in the middle with just my SRV. :D
(Only the Fuel Tank may be the problem there...)

Odd... I haven't updated today, last online Tuesday. The Launcher is playing up now - it either fails to open a window, or seems to hang once it displays. (AMD, Win10, 64b). Just had a small win10 update, so its possible the problem is there.
Edit: in now - seems that there was some network activity during launch of the launcher, and that was maybe slow?

Just taking a moment to say thank you. Reading the changelogs and seeing you guys interact with our feedback is really encouraging. I know we can be a pain sometimes, but you truly listen to us and you have made a fantastic expansion. Thanks for all that you do!

Seconded.

Still kind of slow preparing compute shaders after 49% but I am at minimum spec on GPU so no problem. it did get to the main menu and I am now playing. Thanks for the fix, guys. Really appreciate it. I just love landing on planets.

I didn't expect the frequency of updates your team has been putting out. Great job to everyone, keep up the great work!

Seems to have fixed supercruise for me, except when in open. Still getting terrible FPS

Does this patch aim to remove the old AMD issue when in Supercruise?

I don't think so. This was a hotfix for an issue where lots of players with AMD cards couldn't even get into the game - crash during the shader build.
