Horizons key bindings destroyed by Odyssey updates...is there some file to save key bindings?

I don't understand two things:

1. People are still using "custom"? Renamed binds NEVER get overwritten except by you.

2. Why don't you just select the correct binds name in the drop-down list (either Horizons or Oddity)? - The binds files (3.0 and 4.0 ones) are still there and you don't need to edit startpreset.start file.

OK there is a third thing - Why can't F D actually code something sensible for managing one's controls? Nearly seven years now and still no sign of the promised "save as" button.

A few weeks ago, I was having this issue with binds when switching between Ody and Horizons and back to Ody. Had to re-select the custom binds upon entering every time I switched. However, now, this problem no longer exists for me. Not sure if it was fixed behind the scenes or just worked out on its own after doing it so many times.

I didn't do anything with the files. But one possibility is that I did, on a couple of occasions, load up plain vanilla ED (No Horizons, No Odyssey). I wonder if that's what fixed it.

In my experience the Custom binds doesn't show as an option once the StartPreset file doesn't accept the current settings. Others may have a different experience, but what I've outlined works consistently.

I'll do some more testing and post if I see a different behavior.

EDIT: In game edit on the Options screen does work now. So either editing StartPreset or just selecting Custom in the Options/Controls should both be valid methods. On this recent test I just ran the only thing I had to change was the on foot section in Oddity.
