Horizons / Odyssey Compatibility

Do you think the Odyssey photo-meta will be 'CMDRs on top of things'? 🤔
Introducing: CMDRs standing below things. 😏

Thank you for your contribution. Though we really need more controversy to attract the <ahem> naysayers <ahem> back. It's all gone a bit happy recently. It's like they really don't care that Odyssey players are getting an unfair advantage 🤔
No they have believed the claims that it is a beta and expect all our progress to be deleted when it ends.

I wonder how many people are forgetting that there will be x hours of downloading to do after the servers are back up?
If it is 60GB or so (like the alpha) it won't take that long, about an hour for me. I want Gigabit fibre... Won't get it, sadly
I'm using the alpha binding file for horizons, but for the sake of the thread i could take the chance to mention that we still can't save the binding on a separate file from interface, while if you do it by hand from the filesystem it's loaded and handled correctly.
Can we have a "save to..." option?
I support a "save as..." function entirely - particularly when I'm still working out the 'best bindings' having changed HOTAS recently!

These forums might be useful for a academic study of some sort. Somehow, a community of gamers has arisen that simultaneously complain about (a) a lack of content and (b) demand that the developer never release any new content.
If you tie two of them together and suspend them on an axle over a copy of the game I reckon they would spin in place and be a source of infinite free power. It might even be how they theorycrafted the ships to be powered in-game 🤔

ALL players on all platforms will be running on the same servers with the same BGS and the same Galaxy, they just won't see each other - therefore there will be no progress reset for PC Odyssey players when the Console version and FULL PC release happens. This explains the server outage on the 19th affect ALL players, regardless of platform and if they bought Odyssey or not.

This is the ONLY thing that makes this 19th May to Console release on PC only(with no integration with Horizons players and no roll out of new Graphics updates to Horizons players) not a Beta release - in ALL other ways this release on the 19th of May is effectively a Beta.

Beta = code is feature complete and ready for full acceptance testing by a subset of users prior to a full roll out to all users. Bugs are expected and will be patched as required.
Normally a Beta is not run against 'live' data but sometimes if the software house is confident enough then it does happen.

The prologue can be about them announcing legs and some of the playerbase complaining that the FPS gameplay would be rubbish and it would be all exploration and doomed so they focussed on FPS for the Dev Diaries then players complained it was all about FPS and there was no exploration....and it was all done purely to attract the CoDessey crowd and not for the players or Kickstarters who had backed a game that included a plan for legs from Day 1.

Epilogue can be about Ship interiors being in KS and the last thing to be developed probably over the next couple years.

Sorry should have split that over 2 posts, amateur mistake.
