Sry Frontier, iam a little bit dissapointed over the pricings for the "Addons" "Expansions" "DLC" what ever you want to call it.

Back in the days i pre-ordered Elite for 40€ now i have to buy this addon for an much higher price then the core game? Yeah it is nice that you give us a small price deduction, but it still cost 9,99€ more then the core game!?

Addtionally, is this addon standalone? So if a new player buys just Horizon, is he able to play it? Or is the purchase of the normal elite still required? I mean that are +80€ for a starting player. Not good if you want a big playerbase Lets not forget that feature extensions will divide the playerbase!

you need to buy the core game to get horizons to work.

Yeah there's not enough information for me atm, it's not the cost, but it needs to have the content for me to get fully on board, but I'm interested.

considering the scope of the game, with constant updates, and the amount of gameplay hours - for a non-subscription game
i'd say a major expansion like Horizons is worth the money
infact, Elite Dangerous is a bargain in itself

Horizons is basically a standalone game. You get the discount so it will feel as an expansion. The universes will be merged.

Me too, and iam sure they will make something cool with it. But i just falled from my chair after switing to the shop (That was shocking)

Even with this nice discount, it still cost more then the core game :-/ And even it is one universe, Feature extensions still seperates players because they cannot do the same.

It is not 40€ it is 49,99€ + "price deduction" (12,95€) = 62,94€

Loyalty Discount for ED Horizons

Hi folks,

I was wondering if anyone knows (or if a dev could pop on here and advise) how long the £10 discount and Cobra Mk IV bonus will be available for when ordering Elite Dangerous Horizons? Is it expected to run into the full launch, or is purely a pre-order bonus? And if so, when does that bonus expire?

My bad, you are right! After cart "AND" the checkout he reduced the -12,50€

Still heavy for new players or people wich dont want to buy now. It still cost the same like the core game :-/

The thing to remember is that it's a season of expansions. Not just PLanding. Braben made the comparison between this and the last year's worth of content (Community Goals, Wings, Powerplay and now CQC).

And you can always just skip it and enjoy the free content that other's purchasing enables

It's priced like a full fledged AAA game so it needs to have as much content as a full fledged AAA game.

Gonna be a tough one since 1 year after its release even the base game is quite far from reaching that goal.
