Hostile Targeting?

Just a quickie: Anyone know if 'Hostile targeting' will be addressed or improved, with the new up-dates? I ask, as this has been an issue since I started playing this game in January. I use keyboard and press the 'H' key to target hostile ships, this will normally only give on selection and only one selection. I can have many ships firing at me, but to target the one I want: My choices are: Turn towards it and then just 'Target', or, cycle through all of the ships using the 'G' button, until I have selected the one I want.

If pressing the 'H', cycled though all of the 'Hostile' ships, this would be an improvement, or is there, or will there be another way. Targeting, the current way, is time consuming and with the new 'super powered' NPCs, time is something we don't have, as they are taking turns to rip my shields apart.

Any ideas, suggestions?

(H) is for highest threat, that will be the closest one that is firing at you or has fired at you. Are you using just the keyboard or both stick & keyboard?

Selecting hostile targets and nearest threat somehow never works for me. I always make visual contact and select manually, or in the "contacts" tab in the left pane, or just toggle next ship until I got the one I want.

Cycle next/prev hostile works fine for me. I have then bound to joystick buttons.

Dunno, maybe you have the key assigned to multiple things and it's getting confused?

This ^^ Next & priev works for me too, my keys bound to joystick. I use the keyboard (H) if I'm taking hits from an unknowed hostile. Sugest maybe check your key bindings but yes when not under threat you do have to cycle through your contacts. Sometimes when you have a lot of contacts showing I find using the contacts menu easier since their color coded.
