How about a Elite Dangerous Smartphone Version?

Wouldn't it be cool? Trading, Mining, Bountyhunting on the go!?
I would buy it, if it's not too different compared to the original Game!

And it would generate another income for Frontier! People who are playing on Phone are used to spend money for cosmetics! Look at Fortnite for example, they have a huge income just from mobile Version!

What do you think, Commanders?

Not sure why the above two are against an idea that wouldn't affect them. Personally I wouldn't use an app like that unless I was bored on a long trip somewhere. What I would like to see is a GTA style app, with the ability to access outfitting/shipyard/ship transfer from your phone or tablet.

Anyone know what happened to the old Elite dangerous app? Had it on my phone years ago.

Hey if we can magically make a Mobile version thats almost exactly like the others Id be fine with it. Realistically though, that isn't how that works.

What you proposed ia a great idea, but thats not what the OP said. OP is talking about launching a version of Elite Dangerous for smartphones that is "not too different compared to the orginal game".

As least thats as far as I understood it, and it isnt really necessary.

Not interested in this myself. The reason is simple: I threw away my mobile phone several years ago.
I don't see the appeal of a spacesim like ED on such a small screen anyway.

But if FDev would want to spend dev time on this it is fine by me.
I do believe they have much more important Elite stuff to do than that though.

Like multi-crew and cqc it was DOA.

Absolutely. Would I play it? No, but an iOS version would mean a metal port which means the Mac version could be let back in from the cold of space.

Well, what would be pretty cool would be access to the galaxy map or comms for example. Or a best buys / sells in your local area extending out to X distance.

Really any number of ancillary functions could be helped out with a companion app.

As a helper app it would be nice for things like plotting routes and accessing all the other bits, also maybe extending the control as well.

Imagine transferring ships on ya phone so when you got back they were there waiting for ya. Or as a chat app to talk to people in game when you was away from ya machine :)

Game wise it would have to severely limited graphics more like FFE using the ED backend, heck if they made that I would play it :)

Yes but streaming a game to another device is not the same thing as downloading and playing it on that device. I play Elite on my Vita all the time, for what its worth.

How is it working over Network, when you're not home? Have yo tried it? I'm also looking at the GPD Win 2, looks interesting too...

It works but sometimes doing certain things makes it... hiccup (Flying into the exclusion zone of a star is one) I usually just use the 3G data plan when Im away from home though.

Wouldnt necessarly recommend it though just for the fact that it doesnt have much going for it XD

Would this be before or AFTER the rest of the stuff they said they were going to do.... gets done?

OP just as Ive been saying more and more about SC - "lets let them FINISH THE GAME FIRST" before adding even more stuff, eh?
