Horizons How about no?

Reflect much? Lots of bad things have happened to me in Elite, I chalk it down to experience and move on and get over it. I might seem defensive simply because your story strikes as a poor personal choice both on ship, set up and situation and you are blaming a game mechanic that you are well aware of (or should be given how long you have played and given that if this is your second exploration trip it thus means you did combat/missions/trade and should be very very very aware of what gets you interdicted) and you spit the dummy out and get super upset and stamp your feet.

and you want to post on the forums and get people to say "aww yeah we agree with you the game is broken and bad... yes we will nod and validate your rage"

Sorry to not give that to you, but this is reality.

Yes the interdiction mechanic is a bit extreme sometimes, It does need rebalancing, and it needs situational corrections... like NPC respawing in SC in a shiny new ship. It isn't perfect and I do not and have not ever claimed ED to be perfect. BUT and its a big BUT... we know the game we play and we have to play within the game mechanics presented until they are fixed. Very very valid that there are problems... and valid to point them out.

Moaning about it and rage quitting isn't the way. Writing a detailed report on what happened or what tends to happen in the bug forums is probably the only way you can do it should you want to affect any change.

Sure you can give the game a bad rep and badmouth it to everyone... but you know... you'd be just joining a group of unobjective moaners lost in a sea of people who want COD in space and instant gratification.... dont be one of those lol

I get your rage, i just think it is misdirected.

Omg.. cmon.. games broken blah blah, do you even read?... Im talking about interdictions right now. And i said im happy that other people enjoy it, like you, i mean it, really :) . Is it even my post u reply to?.. chalk it down, i said that this was the LAST straw, not FIRST. I think you are very blind mr. "unobjective" - i think you can take this back now ;)

Yeah I referenced interdictions in my previous reply... derp

Sure sure :D Go play now, and remember, boost is a huge part of combat and interdiction. And if you go on exploration trip, do not keep any cargo, even if you spent hours to get it, just toss it, cuz they will find you ;)

I had a load of stacked missions for the same system last night and was interdicted up to half a dozen times by different pirates whilst making a single journey to a different planet within the same system.

My solution is to just submit and obliterate them because they can't interdict you again if they're dead. If you're in a ship that can't obliterate the pirates, follow Agony_Aunt's advice and wait for the authorities to come along and give you a hand. If you're in a ship that's too vulnerable to survive that long, or if it's an unfair fight (I sometimes attract elite anacondas in my trading ship) just make a run for it and either win the interdiction minigame or weave all over the place in supercruise to try and avoid being interdicted in the first place.

How many times can you get interdicted? like seriously? Just because you have something in your cargo you get interdicted in almost every damn system! Who is actualy making this?? Cant even leave the bubble? you Frontier! Im done with this game, SC release sooner please.

Sorry for your frustration and distress, been there, done that. However, the game is working as it is designed to work. We have all experienced exactly what you have, the response that gets you over that intentional mechanic is preparation and tactics.

Prep is using the right ship at the right moment with the right equipment. Tactics are submission/aggression, speed, defense/offense, maneuver, FA/on and off.

I got tired of running to avoid destruction in a T7 so I sold it and worked on getting the resources to buy a better ship, in my case a Python, and the mods. For me a lot of bounty hunting, not trading or mission running, worked because I like combat.

Depending on your play style you can make most ships ready to avoid an interdiction. For non-combat ships, mods for speed, defense plus tactics, work great. Multi-role ships need speed, agility, defense/offense plus tactics.

It does require an investment of your time but again, the game is designed to be played over an extended period of time, rewards are made hard on purpose.

Good luck

Interdictions depend on a great many things, including if you have any missions which result in hostiles coming after you, whether you have cargo, what ship you are flying (trade ships are more likely to be attacked than combat ships), and one important point, what systems you are flying through.

If you are routing through low sec, in a trade ship, with cargo, and missions, you best be prepared for interdictions.

To avoid random interdictions, route through high sec systems. The new route plotter is great for this.

To deal with pirates/hostiles who follow you due to missions, you need to get rid of them. You can do this by:

1) Winning an interdiction minigame (don't submit)

2) Submitting and killing those following you. If you have weapons fitted to your ship, even in a trade ship you can deal with weaker opponents, so get rid of the smaller ones yourself. Shame the NPCs are now clever enough to avoid mines, that used to be a great way of getting rid of annoying pirates.

3) Let the cops do their job. As long as you are in a medium or high sec system, the security response is usually fairly fast. Submit and run, but let them get a shot or two in. Cops should appear sooner or later, but you will need to circle a bit and get hit a bit (4 pips to shields!!!) to allow the cops to spawn in and join in the fun. Let the cops kill the pirate, join in to get the bounty payout.

If you are flying something with poor shields and no weapons and slow, then you will have problems with pirates, and you might want to reconsider what ship you are using.

Well, may be you're right but I would really like to have a bigger chance with an interdiction if I carry valuable stuff.
At the moment it is really at random. I can carry very expensive stuff and nobody is going to interdict and when I fly towards earth (in the solarsystem) with an empty spaceship I get interdicted.
It would be nice if there was some relationship in what you are doing and the chance for interdiction. Than you can choose : earn a lot of money and a big chance for interdiction or a more low profit but a safe journey

the script is weak, some pirates always with the same conversation and the same approach.

FD are working right now will nerf many good things.

It's working, the servers are emptying.

I got interdicted by one with no introductory comments last week. Caught me off guard, I thought it was a cmdr.

Before uninstalling game, i did tried once more. Empty cargo, no missions, had a bounty though, in 3 systems from previous missions. Still got interdicted all the time, still couldnt leave the bubble, thought ok, the bounties, ill let them kill me, maybe they'll go away. So i die (Anaconda - rebuy cost 10 mil) the bounties were suppouse to be active for 2 more days, one of them for 12h, after i got killed they jumped back to 6 days and 23 hours.... sorry, no way ill polute my hdd with such game. In the best case ill wait, maybe till the end of next year. Cmon guys.. no problem with difficulty of earning credits, makes buying a new ship a very special moment, everything else, they need to come up with something new. Just my opinion, so chill ok ;)
