How about some respect!?

Well, I finally purchased a carrier. It was that has have a bunch of credits sitting there gathering dust. The experience wasn't as mundane as I expected and it was kinda nice to own a heap of pixels.

Here's the thing though, I fly back to MY carrier and ask for docking permission. The crew treated me like a total stranger with a muted "welcome back Commander"! Is it too much to ask for some god-XXXm respect? Heads are going to roll if I ever find my way on the the bridge - stuck in the hanger for some reason ATM :)

This never really bothered me at the start but I have realised it is not done in a 'smart' way, just copy pasted in.

So for example, I'm 5000ly from anywhere, when I arrive at my carrier, they ask "Hello CMDR, do you intend to land here?", no mate, I came to take photos.

As you say, I keep hearing about 'our' carrier. He keeps telling me about keeping my throttle down. I wish there was a way to just shut them off completely

You're hanging out in the wrong places if you aren't getting any respect ;)

What if I told you that it's just a limitation caused by the game's mechanics?

Did you do that with the normal SRV or the one that you get for killing an engineer?
I would have used that SRV but someone got to the engineer before me, so had to do it the hard way. It wasn't so bad though as the engineer in Raxxla put the double engineered thrusters on the existing SRV so it could jump much higher, faster. - You know the one I'm talking about, 8ft tall, ginger tentacles?

Once again, how many times I have to say it... This is NOT YOUR OWN carrier. You just RENT it.
Look, go to the hangar, you see a lot of ADS you can't disable even you do not like it. Why?
Because it's not your own carrirer. You rent it. Now live with this knowledge =)
