It is comforting to know, that any civilisations out there that are in the least bit like ours, will never be near enough to do to us,what we would most certainly do to them.

Where's Canis Majoris (Big Dog)

One of the first things I searched for in the new opened Galaxy Map , was Canis Majoris, but seems that Frontier hasn'n included it , at least not by name.

Please make it happen. I wish I could see the father of all stars.

Did you enter the full name?
VY Canis Majoris
Cus the galmap wont find it unless you write the full correct name.

Ontopic, even though ive seen all this before it still destroys my mind and make me stare blank for a minute or two until my mind reboots....just....unimaginable

You're right mate, there it was!

The circumference of Earth at the equator is about 24,902 miles (40,075 km), but from pole-to-pole — the meridional circumference — Earth is only 24,860 miles (40,008 km) around. This shape, caused by the flattening at the poles, is called an oblate spheroid.
