How big is the money problem really?

I like this idea, but rather than Elite to unlock, just a long series of chained missions with voice acting on par with the new starter missons. This would be more akin to a quest line that ends in the reward of being able to command your own fleet carrier. Maybe the missions can involve that carrier and at some point you have to take command of it. Something, anything besides: Pay credits, get ship.
What if the person doesn't like doing missions and prefers to just explore or do combat?

Then it would be up to a developer to make sure that is taken into account. I think that at the end of the day is will simply be pay credits, get ship. I just thought this idea has a little more depth.

As we *all run around worrying about money for a certain new ship that may be arriving in December I thought I'd ask how much of an issue is it, if it is billions to buy? Is there a list of CMDRs fortunes, maybe a published average of CMDRs current money on hand? If you're **mega rich let us know in the space below!?

*all = not the entire community, see "some" or "select few".
** mega rich = make the "rich" seem poor.
It's going to be the same amount of grind as the anaconda was back in the day.

Yep I agree, it should have more depth.. but it will just be pay credits most likely

And this is what I don't like about the moneygrabs in the game today. No offense to you or anyone doing what the game permits us to do, but it's something wrong when money has absolutely zero value. I don't know how many hrs a week you play, but these numbers I would expect someone to play 10+hrs a day, 7 days a week to obtain within that timeframe
With the average wealth increase the market should reflect via inflation, higher priced missions, higher priced ships and modules, etc...

It won't be that way because new players still need to feel things are in reach, pretty much right away.
