I mostly BH in RES and since Elite was released I've maybe died less than 10 times during combat? I don't keep track, NPC's are too easy so it's not much fun keeping track .. a farmer doesn't track how many grains of wheat he harvests (I hope? If he does, ignore that analogy).

The game tracks them for you. In your cockpit, go to the first right panel (status) where your Elite ranks are shown. Go left twice (A on the keyboard), then up twice (W) then down (S) until you see the states we are discussing.

No one remembers these stats, we all got them from the game

Aye, but I can't check because I have a bad habit of hitting a self-imposed-for-logical-reason-at-all credit cap and then doing a Clear Save. :/

So what are the stats from your current career? I've never reset my save, so my stats include my whole learning experience, yours would presumably show a much more favourable picture.

Including powerplay estimation, about 74:1

First year, the most deaths and bumbling for me, since I often tried to face all pirate attacks and interdictions before I ranked to cutter. I also ignorantly ignored engineers for most of the first year. Past year probably more like 600:1

60 losses and something like 28,000 kills.

Doesn't really mean much IMO.
If you're the sort of person who obsesses about their combat rank you can sit in a RES and farm NPCs for rank.

I did that back when I first started playing, just cos I wanted the rank, and ended up wiping my save 'cos it just wasn't a reflection of my natural progression through the game.

Since ED has no KDR stats for open I don't know. In Open I know I die pretty much only when I choose to (i.e. fight to the death when outnumbered or with stronger opponent). In arranged PvP fights or tournaments is where I often die.
In CQC stats are provided by the game itself and I think it's something like 2+ : 1

WELL over 1000 to one. If I hadn';t recently doubled my deaths in the space of two weeks thanks to canyon runs on Ariel (and STILL haven't got a video I'm satisfied with), it would have been a lot higher. Until I stopped caring, I was at 6 deaths for nearly 2000 hours played (steam)

I’m at about 85:1 including all my experimental deaths and self-destructs. Perhaps I should go and hang out at the local RES more. I’ve been playing for about a year now and I’m a Rangerous Entrepreneur.

From previous, similar threads I know there are a number of Cmdrs with zero deaths. To me, zero kills is the more impressive statistic

Only made 4 claims since launch and I'm elite in combat....not that it means much as it's all PVE.

I have claimed insurance 16 times including once in my Corvette with a crew member onboard. I think about 10 of those rebuys are from PvP, although nobody has been able to gank me yet, so I cling to that fact for solice even though that rebuy count is atrocious.
