How can we convince Frontier to resize the T7?

The Type 7 is the perfect medium pad freighter. Too bad it doesn't fit on a medium pad.
It's too tall by less than 1 meter. Surely Frontier could adjust landing gear height, lower the floor in landing pads, compress the roofline of the ship or some other fix to make it fit there.
So how do we as a community convince Frontier that this needs to happen?

Also, should similar steps be taken with T6, which again is 1 meter too tall, and the Orca, which seems too long for a Medium landing pad, but still fits within the pad boundaries better than, say, a Cutter fits on a Large.

Purely speculating here, but how about if it got 'redesigned', and to make it slightly smaller they removed one of the slots? Say, one of the Class 3's?

Yeah think I'd have to agree its more on the upper end of medium than a large.

Not been here too long but I'm pretty sure FD has never changed a ship model/design after it was released. Buffed/nerfed.....sure. But not the actual shape or size of a ship.

Have you thought about sending them a cheque for 10 thousand?

Can I add the AspS to the list too?

It's main "competition" is the Cobra 3 and the Viper 4 (both small-pad ships) and yet the AspS costs 10 times more and is bigger and slower than those two ships.
If the AspS was a small-pad ship it'd, at least, help justify it's existence to some extent, by being the "tankiest" small ship in town.

If it was up to me I'd give it a makeover by giving it a proper single-level cockpit, getting rid of the stupid "wings" and then reducing the scale slightly (with the smaller cockpit and the wings gone, it'd only need shrinking by around 10% to get it to fit on a small pad) to make it arguably one of the best small ships around - which'd be fairly reasonable given it's price.

It shouldn't even really be necessary to twiddle it's internals, since it already has a smaller slot-capacity than the Dolphin (19 vs 22) and the Dolphin IS a small-pad ship and is, physically, smaller than the AspS.

I kind of dread FDev releasing a ship-kit for the AspS cos that'll mean they're determined to leave it the size and shape that it currently is. [sad]

Why? It's a medium, same as the AspX. You are essentially describing an entirely different ship, so maybe that's a more constructive thing to do.

Type-7 dimensions are that it fits on a medium pad fine, it's just too tall. However, Frontier would have to completely redo the entire model to "make it fit" and they'd have to do the same thing for your Asp Scout. So the reasons this likely hasn't been done, is because fundamentally changing the model is unlikely to be much less effort than making a new ship, essentially.

I imagine Frontier see more value in time spent adding more ships, to offer increased choice, rather than changing the sizes of a very small number of ships because people want the type-7 to be a python, for example. Or the Asp Scout to be a different ship.

Because let's assume Frontier changes the size. Do you think it would stop there? No, of course not.

I don't really see much "value" in creating ships which don't serve any purpose to a worthwhile degree.
Added to which, the fact that FDev have produced ships with fundamental flaws rather suggests they don't have the best understanding of their own game - so if they demonstrate a willingness to change those things it'd suggest they are learning from their mistakes.

Personally, I'd prefer it if every ship currently IN the game served some purpose before they introduce new ones.

And let's not forget that FDev have acknowledged the redundancy of the AspS and made noises about updating it.
