How Do I Activate the Guardian Beacons?

I've decided to resume unlocking the Guardian stuff and I'm at a beacon but I can't figure out how to get it to activate. What do I need to do to get the vehicle blueprints?

protoculturejunkie is not the only person who is unable to unlock guardian beacons, I can target with my ship launched fighter, but not my ship.
Despite jumping to different beacons and logging on and off and trying on different days.
You can follow all the youtube channels and Northpin instructions and get nowhere.

I've followed the instructions i posted above and i unlocked the fighters, but it was quite some time ago
So i have no idea if you guys are missing some step(s) or the unlocks are bugged. As in very recently bugged.

What energy weapon class are you using...
EDH on console only allows Energy laser not kinetic weapons to active them...
if you only have pulse or burst then they may be bugged try full manual beam laser...
Video from Twitter or Youtube from the SHARE button will help people id issues... as auto aim never worked for me had to manually aim.

I didn't have weapons on the ship I went out there in. I since added them in, but I'm pretty much done with this game.

Duh!
You need a beam laser to activate the beacon
And a rather small ship to be able to scoop up the ancient key

Unlocking the guardian SLF is a rather laborious process since involves the space installation and a planetary site

Morals :)
  • You need to fire the beams from well below 1km if you're using gimbals - the target is rather small and the gimbals wobble is really bad
  • You need to have line of sight to the beacons - they're placed inside a "hole" and they cannot be shot at from the sides. You need to place right in front of it.

Windows PC version videos does not confirm its not broken in Horizons on console, as consoles builds can be broken by bad PC changes ..
Requesting confirmation that updates for PC did not Break Console only builds in the playstation section avoids following the PC guides if the games broken...
