How do I add custom sound effects and increase music volume for custom music?

I've added a few mp3's which I can easily tie to the speakers but for some reason when I add my own mp3's, the game seems to turn the volume of them down quite a bit, is there anyway to increase their volume? The preset songs which you can tie to the speakers seem to be very loud, so surely there must be a way?

Also can I add my own custom sound effects for the sound effect triggered speakers? I can't see where/how I add those.

When I downloaded the Merry-go-round music from RollerCoaster Tycoon and placed a speaker near the merry-go-round (so it would play constantly instead of resetting each ride cycle), I was able to increase the volume by just adding duplicates of the speaker. Incidentally they stayed in perfect sync, even after reloading the map. See if that helps. ^^
