How do I get a full console account copy over to PC?

So to summarise the situation, you asked in December, were told in detail how it worked (edit - you missed update 14 I guess?), and now after the event but before the new cut-down process is in place you complain about not being informed.

You (specifically, you, Miko) were told, at the time, here:

In the following post Northpin explained in even more detail.

🤷‍♂️
I was told it was an automatic process and you fill out a webform, which wasn't obvious to me at the time? I hadn't actually noticed that reply, being honest, but I am still a bit befuddled at the whole process and how evidently short lived it was. Again, I can't pretend to be very happy, especially in relation to how Frontier have treated the game itself, ultimately, but what can I do?

Elite dying on console actually freed me from the binds, keeping me from playing other games. It's sad, though, as the game really had something about it and I did hope eventually the vision for it would really have come about, but I just won't go through the grind again and lose my stuff - which ironically will happen once the consoles get the plug pulled altogether.

Shame Frontier lost their love for the game and the collective community as a whole, where console players also contributed immensely to the discoveries and events.

Later, folks.

Yes, I missed an update I didn't expect was console relevant. Sorry. And I missed that reply, but was the process still possible in December? It didn't exactly scream "LINK" on here. Anyways, good day to you and thanks for all the replies.

As a console player I managed to complete the full transfer to PC side ( still not got a PC as of yet) when it was first announced( sept?) .
Admittedly Fdev's use of indefinitely and plenty of notice was in my opinion a little white lie as it was about 2.5 months ? And then we weren't given enough notice if we had to decommission our FC if required.
But the full transfer was surprisingly easy and a huge + for Fdev on this . The next copy over may well be limited due to the live legacy switch .

Hey there CMDR,

Thanks for getting in touch with us.

Currently, due to technical changes in the game since the introduction of Update 14, our transfer process is temporarily suspended. To ensure that everyone has the opportunity to use the process, and that the transition from console to PC can be as smooth as possible; the team are working on the process and we are aiming to reintroduce it in Q1 2023.

While we cannot go into more details about exactly what will be able to be transferred, we can confirm that Fleet Carriers will not be transferrable. They were not transferrable when the previous process was released, so your fleet carrier will have to be decommissioned before a transfer is initiated if you'd like to keep the credits.

While you won't receive a notification letting you know the transfer process has re-released, you can keep up to date on any changes or latest news via this FAQ as well as our social media pages.

You may also want to consider subscribing to our mailing list. You can find a form to do so on the bottom of our news page here:

We understand that the delay in the release of the transfer process may be frustrating. Please rest assured that we are working hard to get this back online as soon as we can.

Kind regards,

So effectively I'm going to potentially miss out on this again unless I hawkeye the forum? As per my original argument, why isn't this process either automatic or the player notified and invited to do this?

It's awful that I stand to lose progress or content this way.

Edit: I just spotted news on this... Eyeballs activated.

I can't tell if you are aware or not, but just in case the portal is currently open ..

Yeah I edited in that I'd spotted it. I find it strange console players were never notified previously or this time.

AFAIK they did notify you, it was mentioned in the newsletter. If you don't allow them to notify you, you can hardly blame them for not notifying you. 🤷‍♂️

A newsletter and a notification about possible changes to your account are two very different things though. 🤷‍♂️

I was under the impression they send out emails to the registered account, of course you can turn notifications off so that won't help if you do that.

Not really.
If it was an automatic process I would agree, but it isn't.
It's just an additional / optional service they offer and that's precisely what newsletter are used for.
If people can't be bothered to read news they will miss the news. It's as simple as that. Frontier aren't even obliged to offer that service, it's a very generous thing to do and complaining about it just shows poor manners in my opinion.
