how do i get to my second ship ?

Clue's in the title really.. if in one start system and i think to myself ... I know i think I'll jump into my shiny new eagle ... do i

1... know where it is ?
2... have to hyper/super cruise half way across the galaxy to get the the same star port

or ... can i teleport straight into the cockpit and fly / float / thrust off :D

In the shipyard screen you'll see three tabs at the top. The third tab like in the screenshot below will show you where all your other ships are located. Currently you need to fly to them in order to switch over but there has been talk of a courier service that you can pay to have them delivered to you. I'm not sure what the status of that feature is other than the concept.

So if I am in Ship A at the far end of the pill checking out the scenery and my friend logs in near where I have Ship B parked and wants to shoot things up, I'd have to fly Ship A all the way back there just to switch ships? If that's true then unless you don't plan to leave the vicinity of where you park it seems almost pointless to have more than one right now.

As well as the rumoured delivery service, I think that as we always have the option of getting a free sidewinder when catastrophe happens, Why not allow us to simply get a special SHUTTLE version of one at any station that has no weapons (or create a shuttle class ship). This adds a nice logistic element.
I might not want to transport my other ship to my current location. My mining ship might be in a good location and my trading ship in another. If I want to mine, I get in a shuttle head out to my mining site and mine. If I want to trade I fly back in my shuttle to my trading area etc. You could also then go get your ship yourself if you wanted to, to same cash.

Now before someone shoots the idea down simply because it is used in that other game that I wont mention because that seems to induce instant condemnation of any idea regardless of how good it is; Shuttle are used on Babylon 5, Star Trek, star wars and just about every space scenario. It adds a nice logistic option if it can be done without breaking the core game mechanic.

Yes i have played Eve and yes we need a shuttle like what they had in EVE :D.

Not a bad idea at all.

As long as there is a time penalty for the shuttle trip. I like the idea of being one person in the game in one location. Makes one's decisions more real.

As far as relocations (ship or person)... it would be awesome if that only happened through player interaction. You put the mission on the bulletin board and someone had to take and succeed for you to move.

Yes, I can see "Ship owner located in the AAQUE-234-DE 00423 system 14,000 ly from anywhere you've ever heard of looking for transport" generating lots of interested traffic.
