How do I Rank Up and get Exploration Data now?

So this update dropped and I have no clue about how to get Exploration Data now. I even sold 3 million exploration data and do 0% for it. And I was also doing a few hours of Passanger Missions and didn't get anything too.

So what's up? What do I need to do?

The more you scan, the more credits to receive when you turn them in, and your rank up is based on that. It's not so much distance travelled as scan credits.

If you scan individual planets, rather than just the entire system, with the surface scanner you will get even more credits to rank up faster.

Nothing’s changed on this front other than the body detection and scan mechanics.

Exploration rank often doesn’t increases straight away when handing in data. If you exiting to the main menu and then restart, the increase in exploration should show. It’s been that way for ages.

Firstly 3 million, that's not going to make an atom difference, I can get 3m with one system scan so you need to get a lot more to see movement, second the process is the same as before if you are in a hurry, scanning with the FSS honk returns the same payout as the old all seeing honk, and Neutron and white dwarfs don't even need to be scanned to get payout, it comes with the FSS honk now so in theory power ranking up should actually be quicker in the new system, of course that's if they don't change the rank requirements.
