How do I solve a CE-38700-8 error on the PS4

I incidentally started Elite Dangerous on another account than my main account. Ever since I get a CE-38700-8 error blue screen of death when I try to start Elite Dangerous, just before the "press X" screen is supposed to appear.

I tried emptying the cache, I've rebuild the database, all to no avail. I can't get ED to start.

What can I do to solve the problem?

This error code seems to have started after yesterday's update, and the error is an issue with many other PS4 console players as well.

I am sure that the FDevs will rectify the situation as quickly as possible.

solution 1
Launch the game on a secondary PS4 user and it will then normaly get to the press X to start screen again...
Now close the game and relaunch on the effected user youll normaly now load to the press x screen again...
solution 2
Other solution is to use the back up save you made before the update...

I've had the error since the update. I've tried deleting elite and installing and waiting 10 hour for the update to download again. Still crashes with same error. Just deleted and installed again and now it's downloading the update AGAIN FOR ANOTHER 10 HOURS. Any ideas?

Solution 3
when using wired connection
remove ethernet cable and launch game...
After the failure to use online functions notification pops up reconnect ethernet cable...
game now runs as normal... only shut down console when you are sure you are done for today...
repeat every time you fail to get to press X screen...

solution 4 for WIFI...
go to settings > network
and turn of connect to internet/network..
Launch game
After the warning about no online connection...
light tap PS button
go back to settings and re-enable connect to network...
Game runs as normal..

happend twice for me. gave up and played something else. went back to Elite and it loaded ok

I fixed the issue by opening another app such a Netflix or YouTube and then trying ED. Works every time now

Wait 10 hours for it to download...

But they have released a server side patch in the last hour or two which might explain why you couldn't log in.

I was able to play last night after leaving it a while.
Part of the problem seems to be a lack of detail when a PS4 application crashes - akin to "Something bad happened" its most probably network related as the servers come under load from large numbers of players all trying to log multiple times.

Makes sense. Seeing that people can get in the game with some persistence probably means this is the case. Although there's a few more server patches needed I think.

Hello,
I have the same problem, with the same error code since the latest update. Sometimes after many attempts the game succeeds to load. But the blue screen bug is pretty annoying anyway. I hope this issue will be solved soon.
