How do I tell where to find first footfall planets? which ones count?

I learned the hard way that there's no money in covering explored turf. I was out for days honking systems, doing full system and surface scans everywhere I went. I'm confirming what another player discovered... I mean, it's gotta be worth something right?

Wrong. Spent almost a week at this and traveled all the way back to home base, far from the discoveries, only to get $2.8 million for it. I used to make that in 40 minutes trading silver.

That multiplier is a revelation! With an alt account i had been messing about with, only 18million credits and a basic dbx (eng fsd) i went out east and enjoyed some first footfalls and exo, using an alt account i didnt care if i expired and played freely …mucho plantlife revealed on first footfalls and somehow made my way back to be rewarded with HUGE payouts, inexpectedly! Almost like the LTD days money. Still dont want a fleet carrier. Bloody drain covers…mutters and leaves…

Yep, over 100m for some new bio discoveries versus 20m for already discovered. I mean 20m isn't bad if you don't want to fly far and need money urgently, but many billions are to be easily had once you leave bubble and explored space.

My exploration alt was fully funded by my main including a carrier, so the payouts don't mean anything except perhaps a raised eyebrow (checks they're still there...) It's more the interest in the exobio itself for me, it also helps me to unwind after dealing with work/relatives/other drivers...

Bio is good coin. I recenty turned in 7.5bcr worth of data. Back out in the black again some 20kly.

I wouldn't worry too much about what counts: ED's record-keeping isn't that good:
