How do I throw away cloned credentials?

I saw a post that said you can drop cloned access credentials from one of the the wheels not sure which one . I just spent 5 min hiding in a corner looking for any way to toss this illegal item now that it has served its purpose with no luck.
I also read in another post that you can be scanned by guards with Covert Heist items in your possession once you have ditched the cloned credentials, is this still valid info of has that been patched out?

look in the on foot controls settings for:

"Clear Authority Level"

and bind a key to it

Yep, as above and very useful.

This can be done through item wheel too but binding a key to it is far useful.
I use 0 for that. It is relatively away from my "hot" keys.

Was bound already but I was having a senior moment and did not make the connection to Clear Authority Level. I was looking for drop, clear, erase, cloned credentials.
