Newcomer / Intro How do we use chat please ?

I've seen messages from others sometimes saying am going to die, what cargo do I have etc, but I can never reply.
In fact, I've never been able to send any chat messages to anyone !

Keep getting error saying incorrect communication channel or something like that !

Ah ok, But what is the chat section for then ?
I have seen other players, or at least I thought they were other players, with the names they had.
But if I click there name in, I have no way of messaging them or anything.
Was just trying to figure out how to contact others within the game!

Like explñained, right now chat is only Point to Point.
Devs were discussing if to introduce or not a system wide (or station-wide or whatever-wide)chat

I know i'd probably turn it off after few secs (though Elite players seem a lot better than other MMOs players)

Ah ok thanks, nice video, and ye the ones that talked to me were NPCs then, They definitely didn't have CMDR at the front of there names.
