Newcomer / Intro How do you defeat a fed corvette?

With another Corvette ofcourse! Well, actually, it becomes quiet boring after a couple times, you end up trying to find a smaller ship to take the fight to them to get some challenge out of it.

Also, how can you guys got suprised by a mere 30k effective shield hp!?

Wat, 110K shield? Aren't those faulty numbers, isn't the standard unengineered corvette shield with 7a prismatic shield is around 1000 mj??? So that's like a 100x multiplication, aka 10000% increase on shield!!!

That's kind of improbable numbers.

Anyway I got this chain kill pirate lord mission where I found out the pirate as soon as I jumped into the system at the intended time, he was of course on a corvette with deadly rank, I thought I was going to interdict him but he turned around so I thought he came after me but nope he vanished soon after and left me a bit confused on what to do.

I was going to go to the nav beacon to get his location when a normal USS popped up, I was going to ignore it but my gut said to look at it abd so I did, it stated a convoy dispersal pattern threat level 4 and so I jumped in and behold he was there.... Along with a squadron of heavy federal navy ships, I was surprised, I thought he was pirating defenseless traders there, however before I realized what happened he unleashed his PA on me, and like a second later, the whole federal agents ganked on him, to his credits, he was able to stay for a little while before getting slaughtered, not that I needed that many help with my engineered fdl though.

I still don't understand what, how and why did he want to do with a bunch of federal ships, guess I'll never know.

That is why "engineering creates power creep", "no chance of fighting fully engineered ships in anything else", "it takes 30-50 minutes to duel in PvP ships" and a personal one "balance here is made as if it's a solo game only" things are able to be said. Stack defensive modules and engineer them to the max, spend time to calculate the best possible stacking of said things and that what you end up with.

About the other part, well, if your mission target is around the system you are at he will pretty much try to interdict you. I think he might have had an issue, like, he might have crashed into the sun or something. Now I can only guess that when that guy is registered that way in your game, he will come over your instance regardless if he crashed into something else. If you were to just throttle down and drop to normal cruise he would pop over in a couple seconds. Same way if you dropped over to a station pretty much he would have dropped to that station too. You choose to drop over that convoy and voila he came :p Wouldnt say dropping on that specific USS is relevant at all.

Fly the ship with the highes dps in game (T10 doesn't count)

Conda is love, Conda is life
Imo it stands apar with the Corvette at Combat.

Hahaha, yeah, I was going to point out that my 30k is with only 2 SCBs and a thermal resist bi-weave...

Nope, I still think those are faulty numbers from that external site, I don't believe engineering can give you 10000% increase on shield.

Post your shield number from outfitting screen or the cockpit info panel please

This are faulty numbers since coriolis doesn't do the math 100% correctly for diminishing returns. You won't get to 86% damage reduction. Usually it maxes out at 70%

So expect effective shields at around 10k per sort of damage + SCB's that extend it.
Absolutely nullified by reverberating cascade :p

You are not the only one looking for him. I think that those assassinate missions are actually you helping the local cops.

I HAVE DONE IT! Well, it was not Elite but only deadly, and I found 2 sidewinders that helped me distract him while my shield recharged, but in the end he wrnt down in flames. My first real big kill. But it took a lot of re-engineering my fdl after 3.0 and learning to hit something with the plasma accelerator...
