How do you face those long trips in VR?

They send you a 15m extension cable along with the 3rd sensor. Well, they did for me anyways. :)

Alas I have only deskspace for VR. Last time I tried walkabouts I took a lump outta my shin from the spare rooms bed post finule. Bleedin smarted that did. So my 3rd sensor is redundant for now.

Third sensor... Wow, did you just buy a sensor on it's own? I didn't know that was an option with the Rift. Does it make the head traking even tighter?

I have the third camera for the Rift. It does help, especially when you have to move close to something or duck below the level of your desk when playing shooting games other than Elite (Space Pirate Trainer for instance). It keeps you tracked so things do not go wonky.

You do need to buy it separate, but I think it was worth it and honestly should have been included with the rift/touch from the beginning.

I went to Colonia in VR, as a result I only did two hour stints, but I found it quite relaxing tbh. I did fall asleep in the HMD on one occasion though.

Nothing better for immersion than falling asleep while scooping a star and being suddenly woken up by klaxons and warning lights saying you are under attack. Your brain doesn't have time to register that it isn't a game and you suddenly spring to life as if you are actually in the ship and fighting to save your life, cargo, and ship. I had this happen during a long bunch of trade runs, granted I also built a chair that is a real world version of the in game flight system and chair so things match. Really helps :)

The chair was built from PVC, wood, and a seat from an old car. Add in the x52 and a keyboard rest, and you are set :)
