How do you feel about the new updates?

Tbh a bit meh
Going by past updates I must say I was expecting a bit more.

They did say dev streams and more info to come so maybe my feelings will change but also not one to turn down free stuff.

I like the water coaster and picknick benches. Staff rooms are cool, and the scenario editor is a huge addition to the game, although personally I don't play management at all so these features arent really that exciting for me (although the scenario editor might change that!).

In terms of coasters... Very disappointing honestly. Again non flexible and very specific coasters instead of more generic coasters people have been asking for. No mention of finally fixing the coaster builder either.

Not really that excited about it. Staff Rooms: OK, but since they're only going to leave by jumping out the front of the building, it is going to be annoying. I'd love for them to leave through a door on the back/side of the stall. Also, staff only paths would be nice if they added them. The new flat was pretty disappointing. mostly because it's going to have a huge base and a giant overhang that we can't get rid of. The scenario editor is the only thing I'm really looking forward to in the update. I hope there's some good options for the types of objectives we can use.

Same feelings. It was quite disappointing. I wish they would have at least given us a description of the one coaster they didn't show off today. Sure, I might have been disappointed by the description, too, or I could have been really hyped.

The train swapping thing has been known for a little bit, and I'm pretty happy? I hope they take this chance and add some new train styles as well, or at the very least, improve the max train lengths on certain coaster train types (Iron Fury train type should have a max of 12, not 10. Tiamat train type should have a max of 8, not 7. Honestly, I'd be happy if they even bumped it up to 9.)

So far, the hyped-up anniversary update has the potential to tick all the boxes the previous free updates did. Sans the chance of new scenery, that's likely going to be paid content now.

Overly themed, bulky flatride? check.
Diverting attention from outstanding issues by breaking ground on new features? Yep.
Finally making a feature ready for release that were actually already designed during alpha but not fleshed out enough? Got it.
Zero QoL fixes? Likely.

I have a feeling the enhanced Staff management is going to be another of those "great in press-releases, half-arsed and thus useless in practise" features like the Huntsman, the Display Sequencer and Security Guards.
For "just another seasonal update" it's OK, nothing outstanding. However, this was supposed to be the big one, finally bringing the game to a level it was supposed to be at release. The announcement of today definitely isn't going to achieve that and therefore it didn't meet the hype and expectations.

The only thing I'll say is that it was hyped up to a point where it sounded like we'd have ground-breaking new features, and we were presented with... well, not that much at all really.

I had hoped that they would go "Coaster smoothness - check, path system improvement - check, building system improvements, including being able to move walls independent of a grid - check, water improvements, including waterfalls - check, coaster builder improvements - check" etc etc etc. On top of that complete the coaster lineup, flat rides lineup, and maybe add another tracked ride, plus bring in a new theme similar to the art pieces with smaller pieces and different textures.

They made it sound like this anniversary update would be the biggest one yet, when in reality it's probably the smallest. Pretty weird.

Don't get me wrong, there were good things in there, picning tables and scenario editor being the biggest for me, just overall it felt very... lackluster.

Honestly, this whole expo just felt really pointless and excessive. For hyping and having such a big event they really didn't go into any details about the anniversary update, the future of PlanCo or even their new Jurassic Park game and it was just more, "Soon", "More info at a later date"...really? Isn't that what this expo was for? They could have just dropped a couple of videos on youtube, done a twitch stream and kept the hype meter in check.

This picture accurately represents the hype level now.

I am happy about the update because it is free content and can't complain with that. However, I think they way over-hyped this anniversary update so much that it has now backfired on them.

I never understood their methodology of communication. Transparency is not their strong suit. Additionally, they themselves, advertised this expo as an opportunity to present/discuss "groundbreaking" new material coming.

I really hope someone is going to have a chat with their marketing team. I think it could use some help. But overall, I'm happy. I am welcoming the new content. I'm not mad about it. Just way over hyped and incorrectly advertised for what it is.

well to be honest I'm not unhappy with what we got in the update, it's just not what I was hoping for.

I think this goes for a lot of us. The update comes with some solid stuff, but people are craving for that "QoL-update" and for Frontier to finally acknowledge the problems the game has. I mean its a great game but it does have some glaring issues that need to be resolved.

I'm happy to receive a free update with more features. I can't wait to play the realistic scenarios that will surely ensue but I would have rathered a big paid dlc expansion. I was convinced that weather was coming. That would have added much more strategy to the game.

This update I was really hoping for heartlining in coasters, and finally some coaster smoothness. But I was pretty disappointed with what they've shown. Although there were some nice things like the water coaster, but this update addition of coasters in my opinion it was kinda lacking. I was mostly hoping for a Mack launch coaster. But, I believe they did say there was going to be a separate stream mainly about the anniversary update?

The good thing is, this update is free. And the new water coaster is plain awesome. Aside from that the update didn't live up to the hype.

#1 Picnic tables were one of the first things announced for the game. After a year of waiting it's great they're finally done but it's not really a mind-blowing new feature.

#2 Everyone expected we'd be able to change cars from the start.

#3 The management addition won't do much for the game. It's facilities you spread throughout your park and forget about. (Not saying the devs could have gone a different route with this but this feature doesn't address any of the fundamental problems of management gameplay.)

#4 Scenario editor is cool and the one thing in this update that's potentially gamechangeing. But without a good management game I don't see the point.

5,6,7... What about information on future plans for the game? New scenery items to fill gaps in the base game? QOL improvements? What about bugs and balance?

A lot of things still weren't adressed. People have been saying just wait for the anniversary update. Now they had a huge presentation and we know basically as much as before.

For the record, the biggest reason for the feeling of disappointment throughout the community is the communication.

Nice update...scenario editor and picnic tables were 2 things I've been waiting for

I'm still hoping we get shows and boardwalk games sometime in the near future

I agree that the vendors quiting because they have too little to do is an annoying bug, but it is a bug that came after release in one of the free updates that tried to fix/improve something else. This speaks somewhat to the complexity of making other than asset updates to a game like this. They also said this will be fixed in the anniversary update.

So is the busy-vendors-claiming-low-workload bug going to be fixed in the anniversary update? [weird]
