How do you make tunnels?

Paths do not have auto-tunnel creation (yet???). There are many requests out there to add this in the future.

two options to currently do this.

1. lay the path and then terri-form the land over it
2. build the land shape you desire, then using the tool push a tunnel through the land.add path later.

Personally, option 1 is the best in my opinion.

With either option, fine touch-up of the dirt in the immediate vicinity of the path is a bother. You cannot edit dirt that's like 1-2m from the sides of the path. This can sometimes create jagged spikes of dirt along the sides of the path. The only way to remove them is to delete the path there. Then you can smooth out the rough dirt and put the path back.

Yes, I long for path-auto-tunneling and also make so that you can push terrain upward toward the path and make the path flush to it. I am waiting, devs! ;)

I have done #2 in a scenario and it was awkward and I had to use elevated path for that.. #1 is better definitely.

As the people have said above, paths don't have an auto tunneling feature yet, and you might want to use the various landscaping tools to achieve this. However, tracks for coasters have this option, you can also choose the diameter for the tunnel in the precise settings menu.

there is an unfinished autotunnel for paths, you can access it by editing one of the games config files, but its glitchy and doesnt work well, hopefully the devs are improving this as its often requested

for now until we get improved path + terrain features, you can use a train or coaster to tunnel through terrain, then delete the track and put in your paths
