Newcomer / Intro How does the new "Compare the Market" system work

Ever since the Fleet Carriers update the old way of picking the station you want to compare the market to, directly from the galactic map, no longer works

I've went to the commodities page to do it from there. I selected "Search Market" then "Select Market on Galaxy Map" I'm taken to the galactic map but I don't know what to do from there? Is there a button I'm supposed to press?

No idea, but I'm glad I'm not the only one. Typing in the desired system in the provided field and then selecting the market works, it's what I've been doing. Pain in the Arx, though, when playing in VR.

Market comparison is glitched. It will let you select the station, and give you correct prices from that station, but the column header more often than not will incorrectly say "galactic average" instead of the station name.

It's one of the buttons in the two-line menu it gives for the system on the galaxy map. It will popup a menu of stations in that system to select.

I've usually found it simpler to go to the search system option, type the system name (just the first few letters of the name is usually enough), and pick the station from the list there. (that picklist was glitched in the original Carriers update but got fixed again int he first patch). It's probably not as useful an option in those sectors where just about every star system's name is a HIP number.

OK, finally got home from work and checked the game. When you open the galaxy map from the Compare Market Screen (it's the same map that you see when you click on the "Commodity" filter in Map mode) , you click on your destination star system; the first spaceport with a market will automatically be named and selected. You can select another spaceport in the system by clicking the left or right arrows next to the spaceport's name. When you've got the correct spaceport selected, click on the spaceport name to lock in the comparison.

Note that it won't let you do this for systems you've neither visited, nor purchased trade data for. It also won't let you pick a system that's too far away.

Thanks for the workaround Sapyx. It's not as easy as it used to be but I can live with a few extra mouseclicks. I got the same hassle as Ashnak. Typing markets to search in VR isn't much fun
