Is there a weight reduction? Is there a bigger FSD slot? I was surprised that the T9 had a better jump range with 256 more tons of cargo, but I can't find how that was accomplished.
That's really interesting. How do you get these effects?n Beyond most of systems on ship have special effects and most of them can be "lightweight" cutting ~10% of mass as i recall correctly . And add special effects on FSD that can increse your jump range even further

I noticed my t9 in beta got better. Due to higher engineering and reduction in mass, it went from 25ish to 30ish lys
Adding the extra 256t cargo, made the ladened jump range about the same as it is before changes. Back down to nearly 18ly when full.
Good balance to include extra cargo space while keeping the heavy jump range the same as before
Mrat13 has explained it, the 150 tonne mass reduction will cause quite a few knock on effects. Combine that with all the new strip down mods, and the FSD mass manager on the top of the new G5 roll, the result is a very good jump range hauling over 700 tonnes.
Should be noted that all ships will get an increase across the board, if you convert modules to the new engineering system with the intent to increase range. Also the T9 will now require A class thrusters when in max freighter config, so if anyone is using D-rated they should think of upgrading, the T9 is now too heavy for D when carrying a full payload.
