Passenger Mission:
Deciat to Cool Blue - Researcher and 3 assistants, 4 weeks to complete, first class or better.
Self, says I, no problemo. Long haul, but easily doable at a leisurely pace even. Researcher wasn't wanted, nothing that stuck in my mind to be insanely worried about in fact.
So off I go. Taking my time, suffering a video card failure and repair, plus a lot of side math thrown in because I'm odd that way. And still a little over 2 weeks and there I am pulling up to Cool Blue with a happy passenger. I scan the POI, and get the "Okay, great work CMDR. Take me home." message. I also take a moment to read the POI blurb and then look around to observe the sight personally. I've seen better, but "shrug" it was his mission anyway, so whatever.
Then blam, "What little tidbits do you have for me?" scan...
I'm like ???? and so shocked that I just sit there doing nothing. I mean wow! Here I am 4600+ light years from ANYTHING but this stupid POI and I'm getting jumped by a pirate?
And then, I get... "Well CMDR, you are terrible, take me to the nearest station so I can find a decent pilot." Contract canceled, passenger now has some negative attitude rating, and I have 30 minutes to get him to the nearest station.
30 minutes!? Did I mention the 4600+ Light Years from ANYTHING? So, I jumped towards Ogmar, but finally just sat there and ate dinner. Sure as soup is wet, the guy gives one final shot as he and his assistants eject for a better ride home from a couple systems away from Cool Blue.
No sense was made today. Tipping my spoon, "Enjoy your sure to be infinite cryosleep, oh brilliant researcher."
A tidy 41 million credit laugh! Who comes up with this insanity???
