How Easy is it to Swap Alphas?

Say you have an Alpha that is getting old.
You have a much younger animal available.

If you take the alpha away and replace it with the younger one, will the younger animal automatically become alpha?


Smilar situation, but if you have two males in a pack and you take the alpha out, will the other become the alpha (over time).

In my experience yes and it happens quickly.

I have only sable antelopes, wild dogs, ostrichs and warthogs....but many of all in many habitats.
So, what I noticed or at least think what happend.
In some cases, when I have an older alpha sometimes after a fight a younger animal got alpha.
If I pick non-alphas (eg young animals) and put them in another habitat They (or one) gets automatical alpha after a while.
And yes If I remove an alpha, another animal will get alpha over time.
