How flawed is ED really?

Game rushed out, then taking extended holiday till January 5th.

meanwhile:

- transaction failures causing people to loose large amounts of credits
- transaction failures blocking people's cargo holds with ghost cargo
- Explorers needing to get moved back to starter areas and loosing all ranks gained in the process
- far too frequent match maker and arbitration server failures
- people's accounts becoming inaccessible, making them unable to log in, while another account on the same system logs in without issue.
- half of the promised game features missing

There's a lot more but these are the big and awful ones.

I think I read somewhere that if your kill is witnessed by a system security vessel your account is automatically credited with the bounty instead of receiving a voucher... You may not have noticed your account going up?!?

I frequently kill pirates witnessed by system security and I have never seen this happen.

I had 3 bounties yesterday that I didn't get. One of them was a 20k bounty.

What's even worse is I have over almost 100k in bounties to turn in, but it's in Empire space which is a minimum of 60LY to the nearest system.

Get used to doing the traveling, it's the best decision you'll ever make. You see much more, and you'll understand the freedom that exists. If you have a discovery scanner, even doing basic scans can net you maybe 5k per 50 ly. I learned this by going for rare commodities.

Day 246: Im running out of fuel........ Everything is getting so dark...... I dont know how much longer i can survive.....My power cell is running dry..... I see no hope of docking soon.

''Docking request denied'' GOD ?*)&& !

Docking request is denied if there are no pads. How do you expect to dock if there are no pads? This is not a broken game mechanic, it's a broken attitude of yours, where you expect to be able to dock at a busy port whenever you like.

Disclaimer: this is my experience - if you have provably found a bug where you get random denials, I will rescind my post.

Today, flew around for far longer than I'd like trying to find the entrance to the station. Found it, entered the station... and no docking bay number in sight. Time rapidly running out. Result, ended up getting shot to pieces. All my bounty money lost.

This disappearing landing pad number issue needs addressing rapidly. And not to have some kind of Instrument landing System to indicate where the entrance is, is daft. I couldn't imagine a 777 landing at Heathrow without the benefit of an ILS, so would certainly expect it in the distant future.

Is it fundamentally flawed? No. Was it released too early? Yes.

Entering docking bays and the docking ID holograms disappear. Not an issue if you caught a glimpse of them before they disappear. An issue if you didn't. And no, the docks aren't full.

If a System Authority vessel runs into you, you have, somehow, magically, attacked them. Flying straight when it happened, the SA vessel slammed into me. My bad.

Losing all system exploration data upon ship destruction. Seriously, no USB sticks in the 33rd century? Ridiculous.

Salvage vs. stolen. A controversial topic, no doubt, would like to see this fleshed out a bit more.

Incredibly boring Super Cruise travel times in some cases, perhaps there could be degrees of Super Cruise employed. On the other hand, without a doubt the most accurate boredom simulator ever created by mankind while you SC to a destination 200K light seconds away. Smashing job.

For the most part I like the game but there are definitely some things that need to be worked on.

In this case, it was impossible to "catch a glimpse before it disappeared". As soon as I entered the station it wasn't there. There was no indication to catch a glimpse of.

Oh, I fully agree--it's a pretty serious issue no matter if you see them briefly or not. I've had the same happen to me, not a single ID showed as I crossed the docking threshold, and it was only due to the briefest of flickering that I managed to see anything at all. I would think they are working on it. At least I hope so.

EDIT: I've seen it posted that the compass switches to show your docking position once you enter a station and, because of this, the ID's disappearing 'really isn't a big deal', or words to that effect. I would tend to disagree as the detail and precision that the compass shows in relation to where you should be docking is hardly adequate, nothing I would rely on.
