How I would do an “Americas Pack”

I prefer the scarlet ibis of the three red birds, the others can use the flamingo rig when support ends and when modders create the best modded animals

Ibis > spoonbilll > just another flamingo

Both ibis and spoonbill already have good mods, and so do the flamingos, but yeah really guys a Caribbean flamingo would just be a repaint for the most part. Is not the most important nor needed bird from the region. I like both ibis and spoonbill. Is annoying that we might get just one or neither in favour of the flamingo knowing how Frontier does things. Sometimes i feel like they pick animals instead of others just to annoy US lol

As much as I like the mods, they are both worse than what they could be. The ibis uses the peafowl and cannot even swim, aside that there are problems with wading, and the spoonbill is good but the proportions and posture of the crane don't really work that well with spoonbills.

Yeah it is a repaint, so luckily if it doesn’t get in game mods will work well. Still I really want the Caribbean/ American flamingo, of all the flamingos from the Americas it is easily the most important. Last year we got three pigs, and I think around 4 antelope. We have multiple cats and bears as well. It’s just a little frustrating that one of my favorite animals is relegated to we don’t need a clone, when last year was full of clones.

I’m not blaming anyone, objectively you are right. Of all three of the pink tropical birds it would probably be the cloniest of the clones. I could say the same for the Nile crocodile, or another tortoise, or multiple other animals though. Also following even base game Planet Zoo, most animals came in pairs of two. Two elephants, chimp/bonobo, two tigers, and as DLCs have continued other twos have come out a good example would be the gibbons and the otters.

But yes, if I had to choose among the three for the sake of bird diversity I would pick the scarlet ibis. Especially if Frontier could get perches to work in game. I don’t see scarlet ibis on the ground much, normally they like to be up high.

Does the ibis even need to swim? Id assume they just walk around in shallow water like herons do?

Yeah assuming we don’t get it as a free animal for the 5th anniversary, or it somehow makes its way into the final pack, I can settle with mods.

If they could do a scarlet ibis with perches I can imagine that would be amazing for modding.

I admit i've only seen the pics and some videos, haven't played with them since at the moment the only mod i have installed is the lion remaster. I saw the ibis moving and it distorts a bit. Will it work better or worse on the kiwi rig?

No, that's why we modders want a smaller wading bird in the game.
